Andrew successfully opposed BETTERFOREVERYONE (9th) at Cheltenham yesterday and has two recommended bets/trades on Thursday, April 18th.

NEWMARKET 3.35

EBEN SHADDAD, an impressive winning debutant over 6f on Newmarket July Course, failed to settle when third over 7f on the Rowley Mile course next time and was again too keen for his own good when a 25-1 third to City Of Troy on soft ground in the Dewhurst. The application of a first-time hood could help the son of Calyx to settle better when he reappears in the Craven Stakes at HQ this afternoon and the Gosden yard does well with this headgear on turf runners, scoring with 24 of the 67 qualifiers in the past ten years (35.8%) for a profit of £122.17 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 10.53, A/E = 2.28). Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back EBEN SHADDAD in Newmarket 3.35

RIPON 3.42

The bias to low-drawn prominent racers was stronger than ever at Pontefract’s season opener on April 2nd where WINTERCRACK (stall 3 of 12) was always handy before landing a punt on her seasonal return in the 1m handicap. Well-drawn Pontefract 1m handicap winners are often worth opposing on their next start, with those scoring from stalls 1, 2 or 3 at the Yorkshire venue landing just 11 of their 103 follow-up attempts since 2012 for a loss of £60.33 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 17.85, A/E = 0.62). Wintercrack has the heavy ground in her favour again, but her previous win was followed by an unplaced effort, and she looks worth taking on. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose WINTERCRACK in Ripon 3.42

Please note that the picks recommended in this blog post are based on past performance and should not be considered a guarantee for future winning outcomes, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
