HOW TO

INCREASE/DECREASE THE CREDIT LIMIT ON YOUR ACCOUNT

If you are looking to increase your credit limit, please call our Customer Services Team on 01727 895 000 or email info@spreadex.com. Please note that for applications to increase your credit limit above £2000 we would need to see additional documentation to support this request.

If you are looking to decrease your credit limit then please call our Accounts team on 01727 895 000 or emailinfo@spreadex.com and we will be happy to adjust it for you straight away. If your credit limit was supporting any margin, you would need to fund your account with sufficient cash before we could adjust your limit down.

HOW TO

MAKE A WITHDRAWAL FROM YOUR ACCOUNT

The minimum withdrawal amount is £50 cleared funds on your trading ledger that is not being used to support the margin/NTR on any open positions. If the amount available is less than £50 then you will only be able to withdraw the full amount.

To withdraw money, go to ‘My Account’, ‘Withdraw Funds’ and then follow the on-screen instructions:

You may also make a request to withdraw money over the phone, calling our Back Office team on 01727 895 000 or via email at info@spreadex.com. All money withdrawn to a card must be back onto the card that was used to deposit funds. The maximum withdrawal amount onto a card is £25,000, apart from Mastercard which is £2500, at any one time, although you are able to make multiple withdrawals in one day.

We are now able to offer card withdrawals which you’ll receive within 2 hours of your withdrawal being approved. Unfortunately, some card issuers are unable to accept funds via this relatively new method, and in such circumstances payments back to these cards will take the more traditional 2 – 5 days to be received. Any Bank Transfer should be in your account within 2 working days.

Aside from card payments, we are happy to send you a cheque, make a bank transfer or if you have a Direct Debit set up transfer any credit back to you through that as outlined in 'How can I make a payment on to my account?' above.

International bank transfers and bank transfers in currencies other than sterling will be subject to additional charges.

HOW TO

REQUEST A CHAPS SAME-DAY TRANSFER

You can make a CHAPS same-day transfer, although it is subject to a £25 charge. For amounts over £50,000 the deadline to ensure delivery in your account on that day is 10:00 and for amounts under £50,000 the deadline is 13:00.

International bank transfers and bank transfers in currencies other than sterling will be subject to additional charges.

HOW TO

WITHDRAW FUNDS IF YOU NO LONGER HOLD THE CARD YOU USED TO DEPOSIT

You would need to either register a new card onto your account or you can request to be paid via cheque or bank transfer.

HOW TO

USE PINGIT

It is possible to pay using Barclay's Pingit. Simply download the Barclay's Pingit app (no need to be a Barclay's customer), search for Spreadex in the Business Directory and then transfer the funds.

CLIENT MONEY PROTECTION

Spreadex is authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and as such we are subject to the FCA’s client money rules when we receive and handle funds belonging to our clients. The purpose of the client money rules is to ensure that an authorised firm provides adequate protection for funds which it holds for its clients by requiring on a mandatory basis the separation of client funds from the firm’s own funds, other than in limited prescribed circumstances.

This mandatory separation of our clients’ funds from our own proprietary funds is achieved by our holding funds which our clients pay over to us in a segregated bank account which our bankers have acknowledged to be a client money account.

By operation of the FCA’s client money rules the client funds which we hold in that account is subject to the terms of a trust which applies automatically by virtue of section 139(1) of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. That trust arrangement creates a fiduciary relationship between Spreadex and its clients under which client funds held in the client money account maintained by Spreadex in its own name remain in the beneficial ownership of the clients according to their respective pro rata interests in it. Consequently money which we hold for our clients in our client money account would not be used to satisfy the claims of any other creditors of Spreadex.

The FCA’s client money rules prescribe the way in which, and the extent to which, funds are held in a client money account would be returned to clients in the event of the failure of the firm holding those funds for its clients or the bank at which a particular client money account is maintained.

Please be assured that Spreadex takes its regulatory obligations very seriously. In particular, in accordance with our obligations under the FCA’s client money rules we have taken the appropriate steps to provide client money protections for our clients.

If you have any further questions about our client money arrangements, please call us on 01727 895 000.
