ABOUT Applied Nutrition
Applied Nutrition is a leading sports nutrition, health and wellness brand, which formulates and creates nutrition products targeted at a wide range of consumers. Headed by a founder-led management team with deep industry knowledge and supported by an experienced non-executive team, the Group’s products are designed, formulated and largely manufactured at its state-of-the-art facility in Knowsley, Liverpool. Whilst the UK is the Group’s largest market in terms of revenue in any single geography, international expansion has been a key growth driver, with the Group’s products now available in more than 80 countries worldwide.
The Group largely operates a global business-to-business (B2B) model. A smaller proportion of sales are made directly to the consumer (D2C). In recent years, Applied Nutrition’s D2C offering has expanded in the UK and internationally, with the channel delivering strong growth year on year. Setting its sights on a £430 million flotation on the London Stock Exchange, Applied Nutrition has a broad consumer appeal with sponsorships of athletes and sports teams including: Sir Bradley Wiggins, Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett, Fulham F.C., Rangers F.C. and Wigan Warriors. In 2024, the Group posted a total revenue of £86.2mln, up from £60.8m in the previous year. Trading on the market commenced on Thursday 24th October 2024, with shares opening 7% higher than the IPO price.

How do IPOs work?
IPOs work by having a company put its shares up for sale to the public. Some common reasons for this include seeking to raise capital for business growth, decreasing or settling debts, positioning itself to better attract and retain talent, or increasing liquidity.
The IPO process starts off with a detailed audit of the company by an external resource – it must be conducted taking all the company’s financials into consideration. Next, a registration statement needs to be prepared by the business and filed with the appropriate exchange commission. If the commission grants approval, the company can then list a set number of shares at a price determined by an investment bank.
