With less than a month of the season left nothing is yet decided at either end of the table, lending an extra frisson of tension to the weekend’s fixtures. Saturday gets things off to an inauspicious start, however, with Crystal Palace taking on Burnley at 5.30pm on BT Sport 1. Up until Wednesday’s loss against Spurs, Palace had built up a nice head of steam, beating both Arsenal and Liverpool while drawing with Leicester. Though only 2 points separate the sides Burnley have been in far worse shape of late, and have just 1 win in their last 11 games. With Christian Benteke – who sits at a Super Mega PGM of 37-43 – in fine form Big Sam’s lot should have the edge, Spreadex offering a Crystal Palace/Burnley Goal Supremacy spread of 0.6-0.8 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.4-2.6. Sunday then ramps things up significantly with the first in a trio of important games, as Manchester United host Swansea at 12pm on BT Sport 1. Thursday’s Manchester derby ended in stalemate, meaning United once again missed out on a chance to break into the top 4; and while it extended the club’s unbeaten run to 24 games, it also marked their 13th draw of the season, more than any other team in the league. At the other end of the table Swansea are attempting to mount a last minute escape from the relegation zone. They are currently 2 points behind Hull, and may be able to close that gap with an unlikely victory at Old Trafford if the Tigers lose to Southampton on Saturday. While Jose Mourinho’s side have been notably weaker at home this season, and will be missing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, they should have enough to overcome their Welsh opponents, with Spreadex offering a Manchester United/Swansea Goal Supremacy spread of 1.3-1.5 alongside a Total goals spread of 2.65-2.85. A couple of hours later Chelsea look to tighten their grip on the title with a trip to Everton at 2.05pm on Sky Sports 1. By following up their psychologically important FA Cup win over Spurs with a rampant 4-2 victory over Southampton, the Blues maintained their 4 point lead and edged over closer to being crowned champions. Diego Costa also re-found his scoring boots, and heads into Sunday at a Super Mega PGM of 32-38. Of course Everton have their own prodigious talent up front – Premier League top scorer Romelu Lukaku, whose 24 goals gives him a Super Mega PGM of 28-34. As for the Toffees chances of a picking up a win, they seem slight less promising; Spreadex are offering a Chelsea/Everton (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.35-0.55 alongside a Total Goal spread of 2.65-2.85. The biggest game of the weekend comes late on Sunday afternoon, with the final ever White Hart Lane North London derby at 4.30pm on Sky Sports 1.This is the first part of Tottenham’s tough run in, one that also includes matches against West Ham, Manchester United and Leicester. If they are to keep their hopes of a first Premier League title alive then they aren’t afford to drop a single point, piling the pressure on an already emotional fixture. Arsenal can’t afford to lose, but for slightly less lofty reasons. In 6th place, they are fighting a battle to nab one of the 4 Champions League positions, especially since Chelsea and Spurs effectively have 2 of them sewn up. Victory over their rivals would be a huge boost for the fragile Gunners, but given that Spurs have won their last 8 games in a row it looks unlikely, with Spreadex offering a Tottenham/Arsenal (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.6-0.8 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.1-3.3. The extended weekend wraps up on Bank Holiday Monday, with a flailing Liverpool travelling to Watford at 8pm on Sky Sports 1. Despite sitting in 3rd place the Reds are in an incredibly precarious position; they’ve played more games than all of the other sides in the top 6, meaning that Man City, Man United or Arsenal could end up forcing the club out of next season’s Champions League. Results like last Sunday’s loss to Crystal Palace don’t help, and Jurgen Klopp will be keen to avoid a similar performance at Vicarage Road. As for the Hornets themselves, their season is effectively over already. In 10th place they are safe from relegation, but stand no chance of getting into Europe. All they can hope for is to maintain their best ever Premier League finish, something that seems likely even if Spreadex are offering a Liverpool/Watford (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 1.1-1.3 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.85-3.05.
