Spreadex Market Update

Clearly investors remain confident with owning risk

US equity markets are set to open today’s session broadly unchanged, following yet more moves on all-time highs. The Dow Jones Industrial Average looks to be testing the 16,700 level, with 17,000 not too far from there. Clearly investors remain confident with owning risk at the present time and prices are a reflection of that. Similarly, the S&P 500 is making a push for the important 1,900 level. It seems that, for now at least, the market is potentially entering a new phase of pricing risk.

Meanwhile, gold is a little firmer at this point in the afternoon having held $1,290 to the downside for June delivery. Dollars are beating euros and pounds, and fixed income is stronger in light of a miss from economic data from the Eurozone and US. But the equity market, as has been the case for a little while now, doesn’t seem to care too much.
