Spreadex Market Update

Asian shares fall throughout the night

Asian shares fell throughout the night, following on from the dramatic sell off seen throughout Europe and America amid further worries surrounding economic health. The Nikkei tumbled 1.9% overnight despite rebounding off its four-and-a half month lows. The Hang Seng was a similar picture, opening down 1% at around 22913.

Economic data released from America sent markets into a frenzy during yesterday’s session with all data coming in worse than expected. Markets reacted with a fierce sell off with the Dow Jones hitting lows of around 15879 before rebounding to stay above the key 16000 level.

Prior to the European open, bourses are looking to open on a positive note as they attempt to regain some of yesterday’s losses. The FTSE 100 is set to open 35 points higher whilst the DAX is currently up around 60 points.

With more economic data released throughout the day, the slight sign of any positive data would be a huge relief to markets however if it continues to come in worse than forecasted then markets could continue to plummet.
