Spreadex Market Update

Morning Market Update

European markets opened tentatively today as investors decided to cash in on yesterday’s gains within the equity markets.  Sentiment was given a huge boost after the markets were gifted with uplifting manufacturing data from Europe and the US.  The data was particularly helpful as investors were concerned that a slowdown in China would cripple the overall pace of the global economy.  So it seems at least for now, investors are taking a break from panic selling.

However, the break could be short-lived as the potentially market moving US nonfarm payroll data is due for release this week.  The data could be particularly poignant given the fact that improving data from the US is the reason why sentiment has recovered so dramatically over the last week.  If investors are presented with data which conflicts with the same sentiment, then the markets could be in for a rocky finish to the week.
