Spreadex Market Update

A quiet morning session

Markets have been relatively quiet throughout the session this morning however have slowly edged lower heading into afternoon trading. The FTSE is currently trading around 30 points lower whilst the Dow Jones is set to open around 120 points lower, giving back some of the gains from the impressive 2-day rally which we have seen.  With an unbelievably volatile week, investors will need to assess their risk as they head into the weekend and many will not want to hold anything over this period which is why we could be seeing a little more red in today’s session.

Looking at the economic calendar, investors will need to be aware of US Goods Trade Balance which is set to be released at 13:30. All eyes will also be on Federal Reserve officials later as they attend the Jackson Hole summit to try and gauge a little more clarity.
