Andrew Mount's Racing Tips
Andrew made a good profit with his sell of SOMETHING (5th) on Sunday and has two recommended bets/trades on Monday, July 1st.
MOTAGALLY was ideally served by a left-handed track when trained by Charles Hills and was unbeaten under such conditions on turf, winning at Brighton and Bath (twice), before joining Scott Dixon in a 58,000gns deal at the end of 2021. The son of Swiss Spirit has yet to score in 15 goes for his current handler but only one of those has come in a left-handed turf sprint, when the soft ground was against him at Catterick in the autumn of 2022. He’s incredibly well handicapped on his old form, encounters a left-handed six furlongs on fast ground today and looked on his way back when a three-length 18-1 seventh against the draw/pace bias at Leicester on last month’s reappearance. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back MOTAGALLY in Pontefract 4.15
GLORY NIGHTS has failed to beat a rival in two runs on turf this season but the return to Wolverhampton can spark a revival in this 1m4f handicap. Progeny of his sire Cotai Glory have a superior strike-rate on the all-weather (13.6%) as opposed to turf (10.0%) and backing the sire’s turf to all-weather switchers would have found 28 winners from 182 bets (15.4%) including dead-heater Supaspecialawesome here yesterday. The lightly raced five-year-old has form figures at today’s venue of 4122 (1-4), with the fourth place over an inadequate 7f trip in novice company and the runner-up efforts by just a nose and three-quarters of a length. In-form apprentice Sean D Bowen takes the ride and he should get a nice tow into the race from the likes of ELEANOR CROSS, FEARLESS BAY and ROCHA DO LEAO. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back GLORY NIGHTS in Wolverhampton 7.00
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
