PLAYER PERFORMANCE DEFINITIONS

Our Player Performance markets let you play on a spread based on a named player's performance in a match, based on the outcomes below.

Goal Scored: 25pts

The points are allocated to the attacking player who is awarded the goal. In the event of any doubt over the identity of the goal scorer, the points will be allocated to the scorer used by Spreadex to settle their markets. No Shot on Target points are awarded for any goal, and own goals do not count.

Assist: 10pts

The points are awarded to the attacking player who, with any action, delivers the ball to the goal scorer who then scores without further loss of the ball to the opposition. The assist action can have no bigger than a small deflection which doesn’t change the direction of the trajectory of the ball and finds it intended target. There are no assists awarded for Penalty Goals, Direct Free Kick Goals and Own Goals. No Attacking Pass is awarded for any deflected assist.

Woodwork: 10pts

Any time an attacking player hits the woodwork; this can be from any action but only counts once for any action and can only have one touch from the opposing team before the woodwork is struck.

Shot On Target: 5pts

The points are awarded to an attacking player whose intended shot would have been heading to the goal but for a save by the opposing Goalkeeper or a last line defender. If the shot takes a small deflection or the block still requires a save by the goalkeeper/last line defender then this remains a shot on target. A deflection that takes the sting out of the shot and is just easily collected by the Goalkeeper will also be deemed a blocked shot. What the referee awards will count - therefore if the goalkeeper tips a shot over the bar but a goal kick is awarded we will have to award a shot off target and no points will be awarded. Shots that hit the woodwork are counted as off target.

Blocked Shot Inside Six Yards: 5pts

The points are awarded to an attacking player whose intended shot would have been heading to the goal but for a block by the defensive team which deflects it away from goal or takes the sting out of the shot. The BLOCK must be made inside their own six yard box.

Shot Off Target: 2pts

Any shot off target that directly goes out for a goal kick without touch from your own player or the woodwork will be awarded the points, If the referee awards a goal kick despite there being a blatant touch by the opposition then the points will still be awarded.

Free Kick Won: 3pts

The points will be awarded for any player who is fouled that results in the officials’ giving a free-kick to their team. This will not include any fouls that are awarded for handballs, dives, dissent, back passes and the six-second rule, referee abuse, illegal restart or offsides.

Completed Pass in Opposition Half: 2pts

The points will be awarded for any pass including flick-ons, launches and crosses that are COMPLETED (touched by your teammate) in the opposition half. The pass must have intention (i.e. a block or clearance falling to a teammate, or an overrun dribble would not count) and any touch by the opposing player (not the referee) will deem the pass to be lost. Within these rules an assist can be given after a deflection (see above) but the pass will still be lost. If the whistle is blown or a foul committed before the pass is completed no points will be awarded, tackles where a player dispossesses his opponent and the next touch is by your own player is given as a tackle and will not receive the two points for the pass. Throw ins do not count as a pass.
