Andrew Mount's Racing Tips
Andrew heads to the Flat turf meetings at Thirsk and Bath for his two recommended bets/trades on Wednesday, July 3rd.
We’re at that time of year when we often see three-year-olds take advantage of the weight-for-age allowance against their older rivals but that has not been a significant factor in this 7f handicap, with all six previous winners aged four or five. Admittedly, plenty of those representing the classic generation were big prices but with the trio of three-year-olds including the 5-4 favourite SAVVY WARRIOR (no. 6 on the racecard) and 11-4 second favourite GEORGIE WOOSTER (no. 7) it could be worth taking them on. The other three-year-old (14-1 shot BITS AND BOBS) is no. 9 on the racecard and the bet is a SELL OF DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER with Spreadex. Fixed odds punters might want to chance 14-1 chance BOOK OF LIFE, who showed a little more when going down by just under six lengths at Newbury last time.
Recommendation: Sell DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER in Thirsk 3.45
WE’RE REUNITED could only finish an 11-4 third of four in a 5f Ffos Las handicap on his latest start but the good to soft ground was against him and he’ll be happier back at Bath – scene of both his turf wins – and back up in trip to 5f160y. Those wins came at about this time of year (30 June 2021 and 29 June 2022) and Michael Blake’s veteran front-runner could be in receipt of an easy lead of his preferred fast going. SIR BOLTON, the only three-year-old in the line-up, heads the betting but he’s 0-12 since scoring on his juvenile debut and doesn’t look entirely straightforward. Buy WE’RE REUNITED in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back WE’RE REUNITED in Bath 6.00
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
