Andrew heads to Haydock and Kempton for his two recommended bets/trades on General Election Day (Thursday, July 4th).

HAYDOCK 5.45

MOSTAR DREAMS broke her duck when 10-1 for a 7f fillies’ handicap on soft ground at Carlisle last month but that was the June 17th meeting when it was a huge advantage to challenge late down the centre of the track where the ground was clearly fastest. Iain Jardine’s three-year-old had the perfect trip that day and it’s hard to escape the conclusion that she was flattered. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose MOSTAR DREAMS in Haydock 5.45

KEMPTON 7.00

The presence of CABINET OF CLOWNS at Kempton on the same night as the general election might be a case of the five-year-old’s connections having a bit of fun and, rather like the incumbent government, he’s likely to leave with his tail between his legs. The son of Tamayuz has won three times on turf but is not bred for Polytrack – his sire’s progeny are 60 from 691 (8.7%) across the three British Polytrack venues (Chelmsford, Kempton and Lingfield) and backing them blind would have returned a loss of £261.89 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 73.90, A/E = 0.81). The grey front-runner is likely to face pace pressure from the blinkered first-time AUTUMN FESTIVAL and rates a sell in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose CABINET OF CLOWNS in the 7.00 at Kempton

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
