Andrew heads to the afternoon meetings at Newton Abbot and Doncaster for his two recommended bets/trades on Friday, July 5th.

NEWTON ABBOT 3.25

MAGISTRATO ran a solid race at Stratford last time on his first start since a wind operation, finishing third (just under four lengths behind the winner) in handicap hurdle company. Deborah Cole’s consistent six-year-old is better known as a chaser and has placed on his last three starts over the larger obstacles. He ran second in the novices’ handicap chase on this card last year – his only previous course visit – and he rates a buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or an each-way play in the fixed odds betting.

Recommendation: Back MAGISTRATO in Newton Abbot 3.25

DONCASTER 3.50

BRAVE NATION has won just once from 13 starts, with that sole success coming here at Doncaster on his racecourse debut back in April 2022. However, the application of a hood has helped to revitalise him in recent starts and he arrives here on the back of two runners-up efforts, including by just half-a-length over course and distance on his only other visit to Town Moor. Michael Bell’s four-year-old could be helped by the presence of NIGHT ON EARTH, who is likely to set a strong gallop, and can be bought in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or backed each-way at a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back BRAVE NATION in Doncaster 3.50

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
