Andrew Mount's Racing Tips
Andrew heads to Chepstow and Dundalk’s all-weather card for his three recommended bets/trades on Wednesday, November 6th.
Venetia Williams has a fantastic record with her handicap chasers in the month of November, scoring with 127 of the 633 qualifiers this century for a profit of £206.59 to a £1 level stake at SP (+32.6% on turnover). NOW OR NEVER showed ability over fences in France and form figures in handicap hurdles last season of PP40 (0-4) should be taken with a pinch of salt, as he would have needed time to acclimatise to his new surroundings. The five-year-old had a wind operation over the summer and is likely to take a big step forward now running over fences in Britain for the first time. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back NOW OR NEVER in Chepstow 2.20
AREANA was only sixth to Church Mountain when starting as the 3-1 favourite for a Dundalk handicap over the extended 1m2f trip on her latest outing, but that race is working out extremely well and she’s taken to get off the mark over the same track and trip at the 13th attempt. The winner of that Dundalk contest followed up off a 5lb higher mark and the fourth, Glyde Ranger, bolted up by four lengths when returned to Dundalk on his next outing. Like Areana, that pair were both ridden patiently which was probably not ideal. The five-year-old has only had two runs for her current yard, placing over 1m4f here in the other, and looks a solid buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market.
Recommendation: Back AREANA in Dundalk 4.45
DANCING STEVE also ran in the Church Mountain/Areana race over course and distance last time, finishing third of the 14 runners under a patient ride. Sent off at 10-1 (from 14s), the three-year-old was making his all-weather debut and confirmed the promise of September’s seventh of 16 at Listowel where he fared best of those to chase the strong early pace in a 1m handicap that was set up for the closers. With luck, Adam Caffrey will have him closer to the early pace this time and he’s open to plenty of improvement on this surface. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back DANCING STEVE in Dundalk 5.15
