Andrew Mount's Racing Tips
Andrew heads to the all-weather meetings at Lingfield and Newcastle for his two recommended bets/trades on Thursday, March 7th.
Since the beginning of 2015, Jane Chapple-Hyam has a 39 from 164 record (23.8% strike-rate) with last-time out winners and backing them all would have returned a profit of £60.83 to a £1 level stake at SP. HABRDI qualifies and is also a son of Calyx, whose progeny are 13 from 51 on the all-weather for a profit of £114.22 to a £1 level stake at SP. The three-year-old began life with George Boughey, shaping with promise in a couple of 6f novice/maiden races on Newmarket’s July course, before switching to his current handler.
He could only finish 19th of 22 when 25-1 for a valuable sales races on the Rowley Mile on his stable debut but lost all chance by being first to load and waiting in the stalls for ten minutes before they jumped off. He’s three from three since, clocking a fast time when romping home at Chelmsford on his latest outing and though up in grade from a Class 4 handicap to a Listed race, won’t be disgraced. Buy at 11 in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or back him each-way in the fixed odds betting (8-1).
Recommendation: Back HABRDI in Lingfield 3.20
REDONDO has been in fine form over 1m here of late, scoring on his debut for the Daragh Bourke yard last month before his narrow second to Mulciber. The early market looks to have over-reacted to the drop to 7f and I’d have him closer to SUNBLOCK in the betting. With two of his rivals in first-time headgear, he should get an honest pace to aim at and will be staying on well under the excellent Jason Hart, whose is five from 14 for the yard for a profit of £27.00. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back REDONDO in Newcastle 7.00
Please note that the picks recommended in this blog post are based on past performance and should not be considered a guarantee for future winning outcomes, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
