Andrew Mount's Racing Tips
Andrew found 7-4 winner ATHERSTONE WARRIOR on Tuesday and has three two recommended bets/trades on Wednesday, April 10th.
ORTELIUS, second by a neck in a 1m Curragh maiden on his juvenile debut, caught the eye when third in a maiden on Newmarket’s Rowley Mile next time. High draws enjoyed a massive advantage in that 17-runner contest, with the first five drawn 14, 15, 1, 16 and 17 (once adjusted for non-runners). Ortelius was the ‘outlier’, doing really well to place from his poor low draw and can make a winning reappearance in this 1m2f contest. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back ORTELIUS in Leopardstown 1.45
REGAL GLORY has only scored once from 15 starts on the all-weather but is usually thereabouts when racing at Lingfield, recording form figures in handicaps of 41444644 (1-8). Laura Mongan’s filly spent too long on the ‘dead’ rail before staying on late when fifth in a 1m classified contest here last time and the 51-day break, combined with the jockey upgrade (Rob Hornby in for Luke Morris) can see her run a big race off what will hopefully be a strong gallop. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back REGAL GLORY in Lingfield 2.22
THEATRICALLY is forecast by the Racing Post to start as the 100-3 favourite for this 5f fillies’ novice stakes on the back of her fifth place in the Brocklesby at Doncaster last month. However, she was probably flattered that day, as she got cover from the headwind and came from off the pace, as did four of the first five home. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. There are plenty of interesting newcomers for fixed odds punters to take her on with the Paul & Oliver Cole-trained KODIBEAT the pick.
Recommendation: Oppose THEATRICALLY in Kempton 5.30
Please note that the picks recommended in this blog post are based on past performance and should not be considered a guarantee for future winning outcomes, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
