Andrew Mount's Racing Tips
Andrew starts the new week with a trio of recommended bets/trades at Ayr, Windsor and Wolverhampton on Monday, July 15th.
CODE PURPLE made all in a Class 6 handicap at Musselburgh last time to take his record over the 7f trip on turf to 10120591 (3-8). Ben Haslam’s five-year-old faces a tough rival in MAKALU but that one is best late off a strong pace and Code Purple might be able to do his own thing in front this afternoon. Joanna Mason is a good booking – she has form figures for the Haslam yard of 1644651143412 (4-13) for a profit of £10.25 to a £1 level stake at SP – and Code Purple could prove hard to catch. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price (2-1 at the time of writing).
Recommendation: Back CODE PURPLE in Ayr 4.35
Kevin Philippart De Foy’s newcomer D DAY HARLEY R is nicely drawn in stall 1 for this 6f novice contest and the son of Ardad looks worth a speculative interest at a big price. His sire’s progeny are 13 from 126 on their two-year-olds debuts for a profit of £141.83 and plenty more have run well in defeat, including 20 seconds/thirds at odds of up to 66-1. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price (16-1 at the time of writing).
Recommendation: Back D DAY HARLEY R in Windsor 5.45
Marco Botti has a very good record when switching one of his runners from turf to Tapeta, including 56 winners from 262 qualifiers here at Wolverhampton (21.4% strike-rate) for a profit of £62.97 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 39.34, A/E = 1.42). TRUE BLUE GENT hasn’t shown much on his two previous course outings but both came before he was gelded and there were signs of life when he was beaten by less than five lengths at 33-1 on turf 11 days ago. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back TRUE BLUE GENT in Wolverhampton 8.40
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
