ALHATTAN has found one too good on her last two starts, going down by a short head when 4-1 for a 1m2f fillies’ handicap here at Salisbury before a half-length reverse over 1m4f at Newmarket where she finished five lengths clear of the third after failing to settle. The daughter of Lope De Vega is now 0-3 since handicapping but the hood goes on today and George Boughey is 11 from 38 (29%) when using this headgear for the first time for a profit of £11.67 to a £1 level stake at SP. Handicap debut winners on the Flat are usually worth opposing when bidding to follow up in another Flat handicap, with Gracious Leader’s short-priced defeat at Kempton last night taking the score to 247 winners from 1305 bets (18.9%) for a loss of £424.05 to a £1 level stake at SP (-32.5% on turnover).
