Andrew Mount's Racing Tips

Andrew Mount's Racing Tips 16.02.24

Andrew heads to the jumps meetings at Fakenham and Kelso for jis two recommended bets/trades on Friday, February 16th.

FAKENHAM WINNING DISTANCES

Spreadex has set the WINNING DISTANCES market quite defensively at FAKENHAM today (54-59) but there’s still some juice in the price for buyers, especially given the prospect of more non-runners in the very soft conditions. The Hunter Chase at 4.15 could be the key, as this race has produced winning margins of 25, 23 and 14 lengths in three of the last four years. We’re already down to five runners from eight and though two of those dominate the betting I can see SECRET INVESTOR bombing out completely on ground plenty soft enough for him.

Recommendation: Buy WINNING DISTANCES at Fakenham.

KELSO 3.25

NED TANNER has developed into a disappointing type since scoring over a longer trip here last February, recording form figures of 252U3 (0-5), with the defeats at odds ranging from 2-1 to 7-1. His jumping remains far from foot perfect, and his four career wins have come in Class 3 or 4 company. Nick Alexander’s eight-year-old steps to Class 3 level today and looks under-priced. Sell at 19 in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose NED TANNER in Kelso 3.25
