Andrew found winners HARPER’S FERRY & SUNFALL on Monday and has two more recommended bets/trades on Tuesday, April 16th.

NEWMARKET 2.55

OBELIX was sold out of the Gosden yard for 45,000gns last autumn and the son of Sea The Stars looks capable of running a big race on his debut for Julie Camacho. The four-year-old scored over today’s 1m trip on a straight course as a juvenile and struggled to see out 1m2f on multiple occasions last term. He did show ability on occasions in 2023, notably when runner-up here last summer behind Killybegs Warrior, unbeaten in three starts on the July Course. His new yard does well with colts/geldings on turf who were returning from a break of at least six weeks, scoring with 37 of the 237 qualifiers (15.6% strike-rate) since the beginning of 2013 for a profit of £116.74 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 22.52, A/E = 1.64). Those figures include a seven from 25 (25%) haul with runners making their stable debut (+£79.50). Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back OBELIX in Newmarket 2.55

NEWCASTLE 7.30

BROTHER DAVE’s full brother Bobby Joe Leg was a late-maturing type who has already won four times this year as a ten-year-old and it looks like his younger sibling is following a similar pattern. Ruth Carr’s four-year-old drew a blank in his first 13 starts but got off the mark over 7f at Southwell on his penultimate outing and followed up over the same track and trip.  His record over 7f this year now reads 422311 (2-6) and he’s going to be hard to kick out of the frame on a track that suits. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or back him each-way at a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back BROTHER DAVE in Newcastle 7.30
