Andrew heads to the jumps action at Ludlow and Lingfield for his two recommended bets/trades on Wednesday, December 18th.

LUDLOW 12.15

Former pointer QUESHI BRIDGE has yet to score in seven starts over hurdles but showed plenty of ability in her four runs for Alastair Ralph last season after returning from a 534-day absence. Her two completed starts over trips of 2m4f or further produced a course and distance second of 13 and a two-length third at Perth. Her trainer’s runners are always worth a second look at Ludlow – he’s scored with 22 of the 136 qualifiers (16.2% strike-rate) for a profit of £99.35 to a £1 level stake at SP. Backing only the mares would have found nine winners from 32 bets (28.1%) for a profit of £62.25. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price (7-4 at the time of writing).

Recommendation: Back QUESHI BRIDGE in Ludlow 12.15

LINGFIELD 12.27

ROBINS FIELD returned from a 194-day break to run second (11-1) over course and distance nine days ago and Harriet Dickin’s consistent nine-year-old should again run with credit. That four-length defeat took his career score to zero from 19 but form figures on soft ground since his latest bout of wind surgery of 22222 (0-5) suggest solid claims in a weak contest. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. With only two places on offer in this seven-runner line-up he doesn’t looks the greatest each-way bet for fixed odds punters, though playing him in straight forecasts to finish second to the market leaders could be the angle.

Recommendation: Back ROBINS FIELD in Lingfield 12.27
