That form is working out remarkably well – five of the 11 horses to have run since won at the next time of asking – and the five-year-old was far from disgraced in finishing a 12-1 fourth over today’s course and distance on his next start. He probably paid for pressing the early pace that day and a more patient ride could see him arrive late with a telling effort.
