Andrew heads to the jumps fixtures at Southwell and Sedgefield for his two recommended bets/trades on Tuesday, November 26th.

SOUTHWELL STARTING PRICES

This meeting has produced some shock results in recent years and a buy of STARTING PRICES with Spreadex could provide some entertainment and hopefully a profit on a quiet Tuesday. The opening race (12.35) is a new one but the 1.05 has seen winners at 25-1, 16-1 and 12-1 since 2018, while the 11-1 outsider of four caused a big surprise in the 1.40 last year. The 2m maiden hurdle (2.10) threw up a 125-1 winner in 2021 and simply backing all runners in Southwell jumps meetings during November, since 2019, would have found 64 winners from 500 bets for a profit of £184.52 to a £1 level stake at SP. Plenty of fancied horses don’t take to the fixed-brush style hurdles while we’ve seen some surprise late turnarounds in the chases as the front-runners sometimes go off too fast.

Recommendation: Buy SOUTHWELL SPs

SEDGEFIELD 3.00

There are a few runners in this 2m5f handicap chase who find winning difficult, and the safest call is to side with front-running course expert BEBSIDE BANKER. Since undergoing wind surgery last autumn, Chris Grant’s seven-year-old has form figures at Sedgefield of 1121 (3-4), with the defeat on unsuitably soft going (he also lost a shoe). KICKAFTERSIX (1-19 record and a doubtful stayer) looks vulnerable, as does TOM GREEN, who doesn’t always find as much as anticipated after travelling well. The Joel Parkinson and Sue Smith-trained THE PADDY PIE chased home Bebside Banker over course and distance last time and could again be the one for the forecast. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back BEBSIDE BANKER in Sedgefield 3.00
