Andrew heads to Newcastle (AW) and Leicester for his recommended bets/trades on Thursday, June 27th.

NEWCASTLE 5.15

The forecast headwind is going to make life difficult for front-runners at Newcastle tonight and there are plenty of pace angles in this 5f Class 5 handicap for three-year-olds. The one who could benefit us Julie Camacho’s BRUMMELL, who will appreciate the cut back in trip after a pair of poor efforts over 6f on turf. The son of Dandy Man won at Beverley early last month on his latest start over the minimum trip and his two runs on Tapeta since gelded produced a Southwell win and a runner-up effort here at Newcastle when unsuited to making the running over 6f. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back BRUMMELL in Newcastle 5.15

LEICESTER 9.00

Paul Midgley’s MAJESKI MAN was only ninth of 11 at Newcastle in March when we last saw him, but he did too much too soon in that 5f handicap, and the 18-1 shot actually fared third best of those to race up with the pace. Stablemate Herakles, who emerged second best of the prominent racers in a three-length 6-1 sixth in that contest, was only beaten by a head into second place when returned to Gosforth Park for his next outing and has won on turf since. The 118-day absence is a slight concern but the seven-year-old scored Beverley last May when switched from the sand to turf and he also won at Salisbury in April 2022 on his first grass start of the campaign. He has yet to race here but clearly appreciates a track with a stiff uphill finish and can be bought in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or backed in the fixed odds betting.

Recommendation: Back MAJESKI MAN in Leicester 9.00
