Andrew Mount's Racing Tips

Andrew Mount's Racing Tips - 28.03.24

Andrew heads to Wetherby and Southwell (all-weather) for his two recommended bets/trades on Thursday, March 28th.

WETHERBY 3.20

To say that BEAT THE EDGE finds winning difficult is the understatement of the century and Tim Easterby’s seven-year-old was taking his career score under Rules to one from 23 when trailing home last of the four runners at Doncaster on March 4th where he again finished weakly. The return to this venue – his sole success came over track and trip – and booking of Brian Hughes will draw some punters in but it will be surprising if he doesn’t find at least one to beat him. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose BEAT THE EDGE in Wetherby 3.20

SOUTHWELL 4.25

CATCH CUNNINGHAM won a 5f novice contest at Newcastle for Kevin Ryan on his all-weather debut back in June 2021 and, somewhat surprisingly, wasn’t asked to race on synthetics again until making his debut for the Michael Herrington yard at Wolverhampton last month. Sent off at 11-1, the son of Kodiac kept on strongly from midfield to finish just half a length back in third. The winner and fifth both scored at the next time of asking to give the form some substance and he can reverse the form with runner-up Darlo Pride. Back in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back CATCH CUNNINGHAM in Southwell 4.25
