Daily Spread Betting Round-up
Another evening of EFL Cup football produced a few more shocks than the previous night – but how much could you have won? It’s the Daily Spread Betting Roundup! Blues anything but grim – Chelsea vs GrimsbyIt would have been a bad night for Frank Lampard if League Two’s Grimsby had posed a threat; the fact they scored at all isn’t great, meaning Chelsea are still yet to keep a clean sheet this season. However, after losses to Valencia and Liverpool, a 7-1 stonker is a nice reset button ahead of the weekend’s visit from Brighton, regardless of the quality of the opposition. Of course, it wasn’t a bad result for spread-betters either. Ross Barkley’s 4th minute opener meant you could have made 19 times your initial stake by selling an opening 1st Match Goal spread of 23-26. That Grimsby scored in the 19th minute, courtesy of Matt Green, also meant there was money to be made by selling a 1st Grimsby Goal spread of 73-76 – 54 times your original bet, in fact. A trio of goals after the 80th minute mark also meant the Total Goal Minutes make-up struck 386. Minus the original spread of 207-222, and that’s 164 times our initial bet. Hammers fall apart – Oxford United vs West HamRiding high after beating Man United at the weekend, West Ham were likely confident heading to Oxford – how wrong they were... Still goalless at the break, the League Two side ramped things up significantly in the 2nd half, a quartet of goals in the final 35 minutes gifting them a shock 4-0 victory. From a starting West Ham/Oxford (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 1.15-1.35, you could have won 5.15 times your opening stake if you’d backed the hosts. Teen dreams for Reds – MK Dons vs LiverpoolThough not quite as resounding a win as perhaps expected, Liverpool’s 2-0 victory at MK Dons allowed them maintain their 100% domestic record. It also saw 17-year old Ki-Jana Hoever, who joined the club from Ajax’s youth system, score his first senior goal. At a measly starting Goal Minutes spread of 2.5-5, his 69th minute header rewarded his supporters with 64 times their original stake.
