Daily Spread Betting Round-up

Big Midweek Winners 09.12.2022

After being fed a diet of world class football for 17 days straight, some people turned their noses up at the likes of Kidderminster against Chester and Gillingham’s clash with Dagenham. However, to paraphrase a saying often heard during the Cheltenham Festival, a winner in an FA Cup second round replay pays the same as a winner in the World Cup.

So, with that in mind, where was the profit to be found at Priestfield, and where could punters look for spread betting value away from goings on in Doha?

Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.

GILLINGHAM v DAGENHAM AND REDBRIDGE – TOTAL GOAL MINUTES x CORNERS (SETTLED AT 4088)

Just 90 minutes separated Gillingham and Dagenham and Redbridge from a money-spinning tie against Premier League outfit Leicester City when the pair met at Priestfield on Thursday evening.

The FA Cup has been a welcome distraction for Gillingham this season who are struggling in League 2, whilst Dagenham are one of the many National League sides who have realistic hopes that they could well replace the Gills next season.

On the night though, it was Gillingham who managed to get the win after Hakeeb Adelakun finished off a blistering counter-attack from the hosts in the fifth minute of second half injury time.

Those that braved the trip to see Neil Harris’ side were duly rewarded with a cup classic and those who bought Total Goal Minutes x Corners at 1150-1275 were also rewarded with a massive win. There were 14 corners in the match and 292 Total Goal Minutes, so with the spread settling at 4088, buyers won 2513x their original stake.

DONCASTER 7th DECEMBER 21:12 – MOSS BLUE BOY 50-25-10 (SETTLED AT 50)

It would have been a Baltic night for anyone brave enough to travel down to Stainforth for another night of racing at the Doncaster Greyhound Stadium, however, if they had the luck or foresight to back the winner in the penultimate race on the card, they would have had the thrill of a winner to perk them up.

Moss Blue Boy was certainly an unfancied runner, having come home in fourth last time at this level in class. However, the two-year-old pinged the traps and led after the first bend, never relinquished the lead and came home to beat Myella Pippin into second.

Priced at 4-6 on the spread, Moss Blue Boy landed buyers a win of 44x their spread. There was also some joy for sellers of joint favourites Ruffian Helena and Rocco Lad who could only manage fourth and sixth respectively. Ruffian Helena sellers won 22x their stake and those who were against Rocco Lad won 21x their stake.

TAUNTON 8th DECEMBER 15:40 – BRAGANZA BAY 50-30-20-10 (SETTLED AT 0)

From dogs to horses and the lucky last at Taunton yesterday didn’t really go to plan for punters as favourite Braganza Bay finished a long way down the order. Rather like the dog race at Donny, being against the favourite was a good thing and sellers of Braganza Bay at 29-32 won 29x their stake.

There were also some big spread winners for backing some of the outsiders who came home in front with the winner Sure Listen (3-5) rewarding buyers with a win of 45x their stake. Coming home in second by two lengths was Galactic Power (3-5) who won buyers 25x their stake with Menapian (again 3-5) in third landing buyers a win of 15x their stake.

With a tricast dividend of over £13k, there were plenty of winners for those who backed the roughies and took on the favourites in this lively race.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
