Daily Spread Betting Round-up

Big winning bets from Monday's football, cricket & snooker

Did Manchester United make it through to the FA Cup 4th Round?

The 3rd Round of the FA Cup was completed last night with Manchester United’s 1-0 win over Aston Villa, sending them through to a home game against Championship side Middlesbrough. Scott McTominay nodded in the only goal of the game as United scraped through to Round 4 with a bit of help from VAR. Twice in a matter of minutes Steven Gerrard’s side had the ball in United’s net, only for VAR to rule it out, meaning Villa have now gone six seasons without winning a match in the FA Cup.

Manchester United Leading Minutes (settled at 82)

United’s players don’t seem to have taken to new manager Ralf Rangnick’s tactics so far, and again last night their performance was disjointed. McTominay’s early header was good news for buyers of United Leading Minutes, as was the intervention of VAR on more than one occasion to maintain that advantage. The spread in this market was set at 28-31, meaning buyers won 51 times their stake as the Red Devils hung on until the final whistle.

Did Bangladesh manage to complete the Series shock against world champions New Zealand?

New Zealand won the 2nd and final Test to secure a 1-1 draw in their home series with Bangladesh. The Black Caps, under pressure after the tourists pulled off a shock 8-wicket win in the 1st Test in Tauranga, won by an innings and 117 runs in the 2nd to restore parity. Ross Taylor, playing his 112th and final Test, took the final wicket with his part-time offspin. Taylor retires as New Zealand’s al-time Test record scorer, with 7683 runs at 44.66.

Launch! (settled at 4788)

New Zealand’s dominant win was built around Tom Latham’s 1st innings 252 as they scored 521 for 6 declared to pile the pressure on Bangladesh. This was good news for buyers of the Launch! market, which is made up of the highest individual score multiplied by the highest scoring over in the match. The spread was set at 2100-2250, and with the highest scoring over coming in at 19, buyers made a tasty profit of 2538 times their bet.

What’s happening in the Master Snooker at Ally Pally?

Two former world champs, John Higgins and Barry Hawkins, made it through to the quarter-finals yesterday, beating Zhao Xintong and Shaun Murphy respectively. Zhao had beaten Higgins at the UK Championship, but revenge was sweet here as the Scot started with a superb century and never let up, coming out 6-2 winner, the same score that saw Hawkins knock out Murphy.

Hawkins v Murphy Frame 5 Multi-Points (settled at 3456)

Our biggest winning snooker bet on Monday was a buy of Frame 5 Multi-Points in the Hawkins v Murphy match. Hawkins had gone from 1-0 up in frames to 2-1 behind in what looked a close encounter, and with the Frame 5 Multi-Points spread set at 1458-1608, Hawkins edged a close frame 64-54. This gave a Multi-Points total – worked out by multiplying one player’s score by the other – of 3456, a profit of 1848 times the original stake.
