Daily Spread Betting Round-up
It was another thrilling day at the 2021 Cheltenham Festival – but how much money did horse racing spread betting punters make? Thank the lordIf not quite as impressive as Tuesday's 80/1 Jeff Kidder, Heaven Help Us still delighted bettors with a best Day 2 starting price win of 33/1 in the Coral Cup. And, just like with Jeff Kidder’s win, there was more money to be made on the spreads than on traditional fixed odds betting. Back Heaven Help Us at a 50 Race Index spread of 2-4, and you won 46 times your initial stake. Buy the horse at a 100 Index spread of 5-7, and that’s 93 times your opening bet. Better yet, buy a Binary spread of 1.4.4.4, and you were left with 95.6 times your original wager. Fancy a cuppa?Following up on last year’s Arkle Chase triumph, Put the Kettle On galloped to glory at 17/2 in the 3.05pm Queen Mother Champion Chase. If you bought Henry de Bromhead’s horse at a 50 Race Index spread of 8-11, you picked up 39 times your original bet. Or, buy it at a Binary spread of 6.1-7.8, and you came away with 92.2 times your starting stake. Backing Put the Kettle On wasn’t the only way to make money on the race, however. If you sold 8/13 favourite Chacun Pour Soi at a 50 Race Index spread of 31-34, its 3rd place finish won you 21 times your opening wager (3rd place finishes are awarded 10 points). Or sell the foiled favourite at a Binary spread of 53.7-55.8, and that’s a 53.7 times multiplier. Best of the Fest Day 2Unlike Jack Kennedy on Tuesday, there wasn’t quite one standout jockey on the 2nd day of festival. Not to matter! You could still make money by selling a Paul Townend Super Mega Jockey spread of 104-109. Clearly, big things were expected of last year’s Top Jockey winner on Tuesday. However, despite picking up 1 win (in the Festival Novices’ Chase), a pair of runner-up spots, and a 3rd place finish, that only amounted to a makeup of 50. If you had sold his SM price, then, you finished up with 54 times your initial stake.
