Daily Spread Betting Round-up
The big news from the early portion of the week came from Geneva as Rangers progressed through to the Champions League play-offs to face PSV. Elsewhere there was an opening week win for Manchester United whilst the DFB Pokal threw up a cup upset, both of which feature in our big winners roundup.

HOMBURG v DARMSTADT – DAR/HOM SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT -3)
We start in the first round of the DFB Pokal where heavy favourites like Bayer Leverkusen, Heidenheim and Nurnberg all managed eight goal wins and three sides managed to win 7-0. On Monday night, heavy favourites Darmstadt – fresh off a 3-1 friendly defeat by Liverpool in Preston – travelled to Homburg.
Favoured on the Supremacy spread which was 1.4-1.6 before kick-off, the newly-promoted Bundesliga outfit saw things get off to a bad start when Markus Mendler put the hosts in front after just ten minutes. Further goals followed in the second half as Homburg, who play in Germany’s regionalised fourth tier, ran out 3-0 winners.
That left the Supremacy spread to settle at -3 as sellers won 4.4x their stake; a big win for such a low volatility market.
MANCHESTER UNITED v WOLVES – CORNERS SQUARED (SETTLED AT 225)
Having been tipped up for relegation following a summer of discontent at Molineux, Wolves fans will have been fairly pleased with their first look at ‘Gazball’ under the stewardship of Gary O’Neil on Monday.
Their performance probably warranted more than a 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford and they would have had a late chance to make it 1-1 yet VAR somehow decided that Andre Onana had not committed a foul when challenging for a high ball.
As it was Erik ten Hag’s side secured a 1-0 win, usually such matches are good for sellers, but we found a buy bet that returned a pretty profit in the form of Corners Squared which was 122-134 before kick-off. With the match featuring 15 corners, the spread settled at 225 with buyers winning 91x their stake.
MIDDLESEX v NOTTINGHAMSHIRE – NOT/MID SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT -134)
Our second Supremacy spread to feature, but this time from the rough and tumble of the One Day Cup where Middlesex battered Nottinghamshire on Tuesday at Radlett.
The Hundred is drawing plenty of attention, but this competition still feels like the lifeblood of the sport and Middlesex weren’t messing about when they set the visitors a score of 365 to chase down with Martin Andersson scoring a century.
Notts never really got going and from a position of 88-5 they probably did well to reach a score of 231-all out as they fell to a 134-run defeat. Before the match, Nottinghamshire were favoured on the Supremacy spread which was 7-15, but as the market settled at -134, sellers landed a win of 143x their stake.
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
