GRIMSBY V SLOUGH - TOTAL GOAL MINUTES (SETTLED AT 437)

We start with the football action so far this week, with the FA Cup fixtures on Tuesday evening being the pick of the bunch. Goals were the order of the evening throughout but more so as Grimsby hosted Slough, with a massive nine goals being netted at Blundell Park.

In what was a replay match after an initial 1-1 meeting, the first half here suggested another tightly-contested and hard-fought match-up, with a 2-0 lead after 16 minutes briefly being wiped out as Slough fought back to 2-2 before conceding a third right on halftime.

Ultimately, that signaled the end of any resistance in the second half as the home side ran riot. Four second half goals - including three in the last ten minutes alone - meant an unflattering night for the visitors as Grimsby progressed 7-2.

For football spread betting punters, a buy bet on the Total Goal Minutes market proved to be a shrewd wager. With the market setting at a massive 437 from a starting spread of 150 - 160, punters made 277x their opening stake.

DJOKOVIC V SINNER - X-COURTS (SETTLED AT 119)

Tennis punters were treated to another three-set thriller involving world number one Novak Djokovic as the Serb took on Italian home hope Jannik Sinner in the second match of the group stage. The two players have been the form competitors in the latter part of the ATP season, and this meeting in Turin certainly met expectations.

Djokovic has met Sinner on several occasions already and always had the upper hand, albeit the young Italian has caused the Serb trouble in most of those meetings, and a lack of experience and physicality rather than ability has generally been his undoing. However, in their first meeting on hard courts, Sinner ultimately prevailed in epic circumstances 7-5 6-7 7-6.

For tennis spread betting punters, buying on the X-Courts spread proved a profitable decision. With the final make-up at 119 from a starting spread of 59 - 64, this meant a return of 54x punters' initial buy stake.

LINGFIELD RACING 14/11/2023 - STARTING PRICES (SETTLED AT 236.7)

And finally, we end with some horse racing betting as the jumps action at Lingfield on Tuesday saw not one but two horses at starting odds of over 100/1 grab wins.

Ask Her Out, who was making her debut, became trainer Richard Rowe’s first winner in seven months when landing the National Hunt Flat Race by a neck. Theyseekhimhere then got up in the final strides to claim the National Hunt Novices’ Hurdle, also by a neck.

After those unlikely winners, spread betting punters who had placed a buy bet on the Starting Prices spread were among those celebrating significant profits. The starting spread was 34 - 37 but with the final make-up 236.7, buying punters made 199.7x their stake!
