MONDAY AND TUESDAY’S BIG WINNING BETS

For the second time in a couple of days, cricket spread betting punters witnessed a huge shock as the Netherlands recorded a stunning victory over South Africa at the Cricket World Cup.

That match headlines the online betting review over the last few days but we also have big winning bets from San Marino and Leicester races where spread betting punters landed a touch.

For great odds and betting markets on a wide range of sports, download the Spreadex betting app where you will be able to find boosted odds and our superb bet builder which is available across a wide range of sports.

SOUTH AFRICA v NETHERLANDSSA/NED SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT -38)

If England being beaten by Afghanistan at a price of 1/7 in our Cricket World Cup odds was a shock then South Africa being beaten at 1/25 by the Netherlands was something else altogether.

The Proteas had looked brilliant in their opening two matches whilst the Dutch had been well beaten by Pakistan and New Zealand in their opening clashes. There were plenty of cricket spread betting punters who sided with Temba Bavuma’s side, but those who got against them were in the money yesterday.

The Supremacy market is always one of our more popular cricket spread betting options and yesterday it was set at 57-67 in South Africa’s favour. However, a famous Dutch victory by 38 runs saw the spread settle at -38 and those who placed a sell bet landed a win of 95x their stake.

SAN MARINO v DENMARK GOALS CUBED (SETTLED AT 27)

It must be tough going being a San Marino fan, but they had a moment of joy last night when an Alessandro Golinucci volley levelled their match with Denmark in the 61st minute last night.

It was the tiny nation’s first competitive goal in two years and it gave the Danes (as well as those who had thrown Denmark into their acca bets at 1/200) a huge scare. Yussuf Poulsen’s header in the 71st minute saw normal service resumed, but there were some big winning bets for those who opposed goals last night.

One such football spread betting market where that was true was the Goals Cubed market which was set at 177-216 last night but with just three goals scored settled at 27. Those who placed a sell bet therefore walked away with a nice 150x their stake winner.

LEICESTER 14:50 17TH OCTOBER SHARONA 50-25-10 (SETTLED AT 50)

There were a couple of three-runner races yesterday at Leicester but the old horse racing betting adage of backing the outsider of three came to pass in remarkable style in the second race of the card.

Having opened at 4/9, Primo Lara had been punted into 1/6 with a 50-25-10 spread of 43-46 as they went to post. Meanwhile, Sharona wasn’t given much hope in the market and was priced up at 10-13 (with only three runners in the race Sharona had a guaranteed minimum make-up of 10) but that didn’t stop Callum Hutchinson’s mount from recording an impressive 1½ length success.

Those who placed a buy bet were no doubt roaring on the unlikely winner as they pocketed a win of 37x their stake.

For those who like traditional fixed odds betting, horse racing spread betting is an alternative way to bet with different markets on every race as well as across the card.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
