Daily Spread Betting Round-up

Monday & Tuesday's Big Winning Bets

We had a feast of international sporting action on Monday and Tuesday with Baltimore taking on Pittsburgh in the NFL, Arsenal hosting high-flying Newcastle and Michael Smith facing Michael Van Gerwen in the final of the PDC World Darts Championships.

As always, we have picked out three big winning spread bets from Monday and Tuesday’s action.

Please remember that, unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.

BALTIMORE V PITTSBURGH – 1ST TOUCHDOWN NUMBER (SETTLED AT 80)

To kick off the week, Baltimore Ravens faced the Pittsburgh Steelers in the early hours of Monday morning with only a few places separating the two sides in the Conference Division.

The game started tentatively with only one field goal being scored in the first quarter by the Steelers before the Ravens fired back in the second, going over for a touchdown and a field goal to give them a 10-3 lead at half-time.

The remaining two quarters went the way of the Steelers as a late touchdown saw them win the third and fourth quarters 13-3 resulting in a 16-13 victory for the away side.

But where was the value for the punters?

With the first touchdown being scored by Isiah Likely, the 1st Touchdown Number made up at a whopping 80. With a pre-match spread of 20-23 offered, punters who decided to sell won 57x their stake!

ARSENAL V NEWCASTLE – TOTAL GOAL MINUTES X CORNERS (SETTLED AT 0)

Next, we head to the Premier League as top-of-the-table Arsenal took on high-flying Newcastle with a victory for either side proving a statement of intent for the rest of the season.

Arsenal came out of the traps early on as they looked to pile on the pressure however the Newcastle defence stood strong and showed why they had five clean sheets in their previous five games as the game headed into half-time goalless.

The second half saw very few chances with Gabriel Martinelli’s glancing header from a corner being the pick of the bunch. However, the Newcastle goal stood strong to the delight of the travelling fans as they continued their fine form and cemented their third-place position.

With Arsenal scoring freely this season the Total Goal Minutes x Corners spread was quoted at 1500 – 1625 pre-match. Due to their being 0 goals the Total Goal Minutes x Corners market made up at just 0 (0 x 10 = 0), meaning sellers won a massive 1500x their stake!

MICHAEL SMITH V MICHAEL VAN GERWEN – MULTI-180’s (SETTLED AT 330)

Finally, we head to Alexandra Palace for arguably the pick of the bunch as Michael Smith took on Michael Van Gerwen with both players looking to take home the Sid Waddell trophy alongside half a million in prize money.

The heavy favourite and three-time winner MVG took control early as he took the first set 3-1 before the best darts leg in history saw Smith produce a nine-darter after MVG missed a chance for one himself levelling the game at one set a piece.

The next two sets went the way of the throw before Smith then took control of the tie, taking four of the next five sets as he raced into a 6-3 lead. MVG added pressure late on winning another set after Smith wrapped the game up in style taking the final leg in just 11 darts.

With the game being so closely contested and played at such a high level the Multi-180’s market made up at 330 (15 x 22 = 330). With a pre-match spread of 204-229 offered, punters who decided to buy won 101x their stake!

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
