Daily Spread Betting Round-up
The sporting week is highlighted by events occurring towards the back end of the week like the Ashes, Open and Women’s World Cup, but savvy punters could still find profit to be had in the action from Monday and Tuesday.
As always, we have picked out three of the biggest winning spread bets from Monday and Tuesday’s action!
Please remember Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.
QUEEN OF the SOUTH V MOTHERWELL – TOTAL GOAL MINUTES (SETTLED AT 345)
It was Scottish League Cup action on Tuesday and while several high-scoring matches transpired, one in particular brought plenty of goalmouth action and excitement.
Queen of the South hosted Motherwell and continued the trend of high-scoring meetings between the sides, with three of the previous four meetings seeing at least five total goals in the matches. This occurred once again and fans were treated to a six-goal thriller with four of those goals (and a late red card) coming in a frantic second half.
Ultimately, it was Motherwell who secured success in a penalty shootout, and with that extended their impressive unbeaten run to eleven.
In terms of value for punters, buying the Total Goal Minutes spread brought good profit, with a make-up of 345 meaning those that bought at 155 – 165 won 180x their stake!
FILS V STRICKER – X-COURTS (SETTLED AT 84)
Although much of the tennis world’s focus was on Wimbledon and the aftermath of Carlos Alcaraz’s victory, the rest of the ATP Tour are continuing with business as usual as the season continues with several tournaments this week, including two clay court events at Bastad and Gstaad.
It is the latter where we look at our second big winning spread bet, as two young talents faced off. France’s Arthur Fils has made a splash this season by propelling into the top 100 and winning his first ATP title, all before his 19th birthday. Leftie Swiss Dominic Stricker has also been impressive and showed some of his talent at Wimbledon, while also making further strides on the tour this year.
It was Stricker who delighted the home crowd by raising his level in both tie-breaks and winning a very tightly-contested match 7-6 7-6. For punters, the X-Courts market proved to be profitable if you were to buy. With a starting spread of 54 – 59, a make-up of 84 meant a 25x return on their opening wager.
WOMEN’S ASHES – NATALIE SCIVER-BRUNT (SETTLED AT 149)
Finally, with the crucial fourth Test of the men’s Ashes taking place today, it was the women’s turn on Tuesday and although they missed out on overall glory, they showed their male counterparts how it’s done with an impressive 69-run victory over Australia.
The hosts clawed their way back from a 6-0 deficit to draw the series 8-8 and deny the visitors the comprehensive victory they had been seeking. Significantly, the defeat meant that Australia suffered a first one-day international series defeat since 2013 as England.
Nat Sciver-Brunt again starred with the bat for the hosts, this time in a winning cause, striking a second-straight hundred and fourth in her last five ODI meetings with Australia. For punters who decided to buy Sciver-Brunt’s run spread at 62 – 67, the make-up of 149 meant a winning return of 82x their stake!
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
