Monday & Tuesday's Big Winning Bet's 26.10.22

121022

Monday & Tuesday has seen a range of international sporting action with Tonga and Wales kicking off the action on Monday night in the Rugby league World Cup before Australia hosted Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup knowing defeat would all but knock them out of the tournament.

To round off the action we head to the penultimate matches of the Champions League group stages where Man City drew to Dortmund in a highly contested match in Group G.

As ever we have picked out three big winning bets from the sporting action.

Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.

TONGA V WALES – MATCH MULTI-POINTS (SETTLED AT 352)

Tonga entered this match knowing a win would take them top of Group D after a closely contested victory over Papua New Guinea whereas Wales knew they would have to secure a win to stand any chance of progressing to the next round after an opening day defeat to the Cook Islands.

Although Wales were big underdogs going into the game, The Dragons got the scoring underway in the 16th minute through a Kyle Evans converted try. However, this only woke up the Tongans who replied with three tries before the interval giving them a 16-6 lead over the Welsh.

The hosts then matched this in the second half going over for three more tries to no reply resulting in a comfortable win leaving them top of Group D with just one game remaining.

But where was the value for the punters?

With there being 22 points in the first half and just 16 in the second the Match Multi-Points market made up at only 352 (22 x 16 = 352). With a pre-match spread of 1015-1110 offered to punters, a sell here won punters 663x their stake!

AUSTRALIA V SRI LANKA – WIDES SQUARED (SETTLED AT 484)

T20 World Cup hosts headed into this game knowing defeat would all but knock them out of the World Cup after their embarrassing 89-run opening day defeat to rivals New Zealand left them bottom of Group 1.

Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat first looking to set a testing score for the Aussies but were struggling at 120-6 after some world-class fielding from David Warner removed danger man Dhananjaya de Silva. However, the spirited tail end of the away side saw them pick up 31 runs from the final two overs setting the Australian’s a respectable total of 151.

The match was in the balance 13 overs into the Aussie’s innings with Aaron finch struggling to get going before Marcus Stoinis entered the crease hitting the second-fastest half-century in a Men's T20 World Cup as he racked up 59 runs from just 18 deliveries to guide the hosts to victory.

But where was the value for the punters?

With the match being pivotal in both side's hopes of qualification there was plenty of pressure on the bowlers which lead to a massive 22 wides being bowled meaning the Wides Squared market made up at 484! With a pre-match spread of 110-125 offered, punters who decided to buy won 359x their stake.

DORTMUND V MANCHESTER CITY - GOALS X CORNERS X BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 0)

Manchester City entered this game knowing a point would all but confirm them as winners of Group G unless there were to be a five-goal swing in the favour of Dortmund in the final Gameweek of the Champions League group stages.

Man City named a slightly changed line-up with Stefan Ortega getting his first start in goal while Argentinian youngster Julian Alvarez was also handed a start alongside Erling Haaland upfront.

The first half was nothing to write home about with no real notable efforts except for a chance which fell to Dortmund’s wonderkid Youssoufa Moukoko who has already notched four goals this season at the age of just 17.

The second half was slightly more open, and City were handed a great chance at winning the game however, Riyad Mahrez’s penalty was saved meaning he has now missed 10 penalties out of his last 32 resulting in the match ending at 0-0.

But where was the value for the punters?

With there not being a single goal in the tie the Goals x Corners x Bookings market made up at 0 (0 x 3 x 50 = 0). With a pre-match spread of 1400-1575 being offered, punters who decided to sell won a massive 1400x their stake!

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
