Daily Spread Betting Round-up
Monday and Tuesday kicked off the week with a whole host of sport with action coming from each corner of the globe with The Open 13 hosting some of the world’s best tennis players in Marseille, the Champions League Round Of 16 in Liverpool and Frankfurt and the Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup in South Africa.
As always, we have picked out three big winning spread bets from Monday & Tuesday’s action.
Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.
CRESSY v BLANCANEAUX – X-COURTS (SETTLED AT 102)
First of all, we head to Marseille where tennis betting fans had the pick of 16 games over two days with arguably the best game of the bunch being a matchup between Maxime Cressy and Geoffrey Blancaneaux.
37th world-ranked Cressy started the game strong showing why he was ranked a massive 115 places higher than Blancaneaux as he comfortably won the first set 6-3. However, the Frenchman responded by winning the second set 7-6 (5) to send the match to the decider.
Blancaneaux then took the American all the way in the decider with Cressy edging the set 7-6 (4) to progress into the third round setting up a tie with Benjamin Bonzi.
But where was the value for the punters?
With the game being such a tightly contested affair the X-Courts market made up at 102 ((6x3)+(7x6)+(7x6) = 102). With a pre-match spread of 55-60 offered, punters who decided to buy won 42x their initial stake!
England W v Pakistan W - ENGLAND TO SCORE OVER 210 RUNS (SETTLED AT 100)
Next, we head to the Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town as England faced Pakistan in their final group game of the Women’s T20 World Cup, looking to end the group with a 100% winning record.
England were put into bat first and put on a thrilling display breaking the women’s record for a total in a T20 match as an 81* from Natalie Sciver-Brunt and 59 from Danielle Wyatt guided them to a total of 213 off their 20 overs.
With the pressure of chasing such a high total Pakistan could never really get going in their reply and stumbled to 99-9 off their 20 overs with Tuba Hassan top-scoring with 28.
With England smashing the highest total of any women’s T20 side the spread of them to score over 210 runs pre-match was just 0.9-8.4. As England scored a massive 213 the market settled at 100, meaning that punters who decided to buy won 91.6x their stake!
Liverpool v Real Madrid - REAL MADRID TOTAL GOAL MINUTES (SETTLED AT 226)
Finally, we head to Anfield in a re-run of last year's final as Liverpool faced Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League Round Of 16 tie.
Liverpool came out of the blocks fast scoring two goals in the opening 15 minutes with Darwin Nunez scoring from a deft flick before Mo Salah capitalised on a Thibaut Courtois error to double the host's lead.
However, from there Real Madrid showed why they have won the Champions League a staggering 14 times as they kept their cool when many teams may have crumbled and levelled the tie after just 36 minutes through two goals from Vinicius Jr.
The Los Blancos then came out and blew the hosts away in the opening 22 minutes of the second half scoring three times, once through Éder Militão and twice through current Ballon D’or holder Karim Benzema.
With Real Madrid scoring a whopping five goals in the game, Real Madrid's Total Game Minutes made up at 226. With a pre-match spread of 57-65 offered, punters who decided to buy won 161x their stake.
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
