punters in the money after Liverpool hit Leeds for six

It has been another week of non-stop football and our punters have been getting stuck into a wide range of markets as both English sides secured positive results in their Champions League matches. Domestically, there were wins for Liverpool, Spurs and Palace whilst Navan played host to the pick of the midweek racing as Thedevilscoachman won the Boyne Hurdle.

Searching for inspiration from the last week? Then look no further. The Six Nations is back after a week’s break and as you’re about to find out, Leeds’ home match with Spurs may be one to keep an eye on.

Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, losses can exceed deposits when spread betting.

NAVAN 13:10 RACE SQUARED NUMBER (SETTLED AT 841)

As mentioned before Navan had the pick of the midweek action, but the 13:10 drew plenty of attention, particularly for buyers on the Squared Numbers market. Simply put this market is settled on the winner’s racecard number squared.

With 25 going to post after four non-runners, the spread was set at a hefty 292-322, meaning buyers needed a winner with racecard number 18 or more to land the spoils if they were to come out on top.

In their corner, they had the 6/4 favourite Music Of Tara (racecard no. 23), but the mare could only finish third for Henry De Bromhead. Instead, the prize was scooped up by Irish Blaze who stayed on well for Jack Kennedy carrying a racecard number of 29.

It was the best possible result for buyers as they cantered off with 519x their stake.

LIVERPOOL TOTAL GOAL MINUTES (SETTLED AT 340)

Leeds are fast becoming a headache for traders thanks to the sheer volume of goals involved in their matches (21 in the last four) and after some big winning markets in their match with Manchester United last Sunday, punters were quick to get stuck in when the Whites travelled to Anfield.

Marcelo Bielsa hasn’t been able to solve his side’s defensive deficiencies and they were cut to ribbons time and time again on Wednesday evening. Two first half goals from Mo Salah either side of a rare finish from Joel Matip got the ball rolling for the Reds as they took complete control.

The second half was a more muted affair as the Reds toyed with their visitors. Eventually, they went for the jugular and three late goals – including a brace for Sadio Mane - saw the Liverpool Total Goal Minutes settle at 340.

With a pre-match spread of 152-162, those who bought the Scousers Total Goal Minutes were struggling to calm down as they landed a win that was 178x their stake.

GOZTEPE v GALATASARAY PENALTY SUPER MEGA MINUTES (SETTLED AT 536)

One match which might have passed you by took place in the Turkish city of Izmir as home side Goztepe welcomed Galatasaray on Monday evening. Gala bagged their first goal of the game after just three minutes courtesy of Danish defender Victor Nelsson.
And then things started to get a bit unusual as the referee awarded a string of penalties.

On the stroke of half time Cherif Ndiaye levelled up the match from the spot for the relegation threatened hosts before he put them further in front from the spot in the 70th minute. The referee wasn’t done with the whistle though and in the 87th minute Bafetimbi Gomis slotted home another penalty before the former Swansea hitman scored the fourth spot-kick of the match in the 9th minute of injury time!

It was a dramatic win for the away side and a dramatic win for those who bought the Penalty Super Mega Minutes market. This is where the minute each penalty is scored in is aggregated, but with the added twist that the second penalty minute counts double and the third counts treble. Unfortunately for buyers there is no quadruple multiplier but with the spread settling at 536 against a pre-match market of 21-25 it was still a win of 511x their stake.
