Who will play in Sunday’s AFCON final?

Egypt will face Senegal in Sunday’s AFCON final after they knocked out hosts Cameroon in a dramatic penalty shootout. It means Liverpool teammates Mo Salah and Sadio Mane will line up against each other and battle it out for the title. The Pharaohs made the final by beating Cameroon 3-1 on penalties after a 0-0 draw, with keeper Gabaski saving two spot kicks and Clinto N’Jie firing wide. The hosts had looked the more likely to make the breakthrough, hitting the post twice as Salah was kept relatively quiet, but their failure to convert from the spot meant the Liverpool star didn’t even need to step up to in the shootout.

Corners x Bookings (settled at 150)

In a goalless draw, it’s no surprise to say this was a game that sellers did well from, but even for goalless games, this one was short on chances. There were only 5 corners – 4 for Cameroon and just 1 for Egypt – and three bookings – 1 for Cameroon and 2 for Egypt – so the Corners x Bookings market settled at just 150. Sellers of this spread can count themselves lucky that booking points only count for players, given that Egypt coach Carlos Queiroz was sent off and his assistant Wael Gomaa booked. The spread was set at 425-485, so sellers made 275 times their stake.

What happened in the Spanish Cup?

Athletic Bilbao, who knocked out Barcelona in the last round, continued their dream run in the Cope del Rey by beating Real Madrid to claim a place in the semi-finals. Substitute Alex Berenguer curled in the only goal of the game in the 89th minute.  Bilbao, who are looking to make the final for the third straight season, are joined in the semi-finals by Valencia, Real Betis and Rayo Vallecano. They are just the second team ever to knock both Real and Barca out of the Cup in the same season.

Performance Superiority Bil/RM (settled at 60)

This market awards points as follows: 25 for winning the match, 15 for a goal scored, 10 for a draw and 10 for a goal scored, with 3 for a corner. Points are decuted for cards, -5 for a yellow and -15 for a red. The spread was set at -6 to -1, meaning buyers made 61 times their bet. as Bilbao clinched the underdog win.

What happened on night one of the Premier League Darts?

There may be a new format for the 2022 Premier League Darts, but it was the same name coming out on top as world champion Peter Wright emerged victorious on night one of the 18th edition of Premier League Darts in Cardiff. This year, each of the first 16 weeks play out as mini tournaments, with points awarded the further the players get, and £10k for coming out on top. Snakebite beat Jonny Clayton 6-1 in the final with a clinical display, averaging 113 to take the £10k and five league points. Wright beat Michael Smith 6-3 in a replay of the World Championship final and fellow Scot Gary Anderson 6-5 in the semi-final.

Highest Clayton Checkout (settled at 25)

With the world champ in imperious form, chances for Clayton were few and far between. In a one-sided final the Welshman only managed to win one leg, where he checked out on 25, with Wright dominating proceedings. The spread for Clayton’s top checkout in the final was 95.5-98.5 meaning sellers made 73 times their stake.
