Top winning bets from Premier League's history-making night

Which Premier League record did Tottenham break last night?

Tottenham snatched victory from the jaws of defeat with two injury time goals from Steven Bergwijn to clinch a history making 3-2 win at Leicester. No team in Premier League history had won a game having been losing so late in the game, but Spurs, 2-1 down in the 95th minute, scored an equaliser and then two minutes later a winner. Patson Daka had opened the scoring for Leicester in the 24th minute, only for Harry Kane to equalise just before half-time. James Maddison put the Foxes ahead again in the 76th minute, but three minutes later Antonio Conte, facing his first defeat as Spurs manager, brought on Dutch international Bergwijn, and his arrival changed everything, eventually!

Total Goal Minutes (settled at 318)

Leicester have the reputation for conceding as many as they score this season, and so it proved in this five-goal thriller that finished in the most amazing circumstances. Buyers of Goal minutes dream of injury time goals, so to get two was almost too good to be true. The Total Goals Minutes spread was set at 129-139, so buyers made a profit of 179 times their bet.

Did Cristiano Ronaldo play for Man United last night?

Ronaldo was back in United’s starting line-up as they won 3-1 at Brentford, but he was overshadowed again by Bruno Fernandes and looked less than happy when Ralf Rangnick decided to substitute him with 20 minutes to go. Anthony Elanga scored his first goal of the season to put United ahead 10 minutes after half-time, before Fernandes, who scored both goals in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Aston Villa, turned provider, laying on goals for Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford. Ivan Toney got Brentford’s consolation goal five minutes from time.

Bruno Fernandes Player Assist Minutes (settled at 139)

Bruno Fernandes looked back to his best against Villa at the weekend, and while he was allowed to advance more with no Cristiano Ronaldo in the team at the weekend, last night he played more as a midfield creator with his international teammate back to lead the line. Bruno’s slightly more withdrawn role allowed him to get his head up and feed his teammates, something he successfully did for  Mason Greenwood in the 62nd minute and Marcus Rashford 15 minutes late. Shrewd buyers of the Player Assist Minutes spread, set at 17-20, who expected Bruno to be the provider last night, won 119 times their stake.

Is Andy Murray still in the Aussie Open?

Andy Murray is out of the Australian Open after a disappointing straight sets defeat against Japan’s Taro Daniel. After his thrilling 1st round win over Georgian 21st seed Nikoloz Basilashvili, the former world number 1 was hot favourite to beat Daniel, at 120 ranked below him, but the Japanese player advanced to the 3rd round of a Grand Slam for the 1st time with a 6-4 6-4 6-4 victory. Dan Evans is now the only British man left in the draw, having received a walkover in round 2 because of an injury to opponent Arthur Rinderknech.

Match Supremacy Mur/Dan (settled at -25)

Murray came into this tournament in decent form, having made the final of the Sydney warm-up event last week, but there was a feeling the opening five setter against Basilashvili may have taken its toll on the 34 year old. As such, we saw some selling of Murray’s superiority in this match, with the spread set at 11-14. This market awards 10 points for the win and 5 points for every set won by. Sellers therefore copped the maximum return after Daniel’s straight sets win, making 36 times their bet.
