Daily Spread Betting Round-up
The past few days has seen limited sports action across the UK however last night’s action saw the return of football in both the English Football League and the Champions League. Tottenham kicked off the action as they travelled to Sporting Lisbon where they suffered a last-gasp defeat.
The rest of the action came from England as Sheffield Wednesday dispatched of Morecombe in League 1 whereas India thrashed England to level up the Women’s IT20 series at one win apiece.
As usual, we look at three big winning spread bets bringing savvy punters joy.
Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.
SPORTING LISBON V TOTTENHAM – MULTI-BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 0)
The first action of the day came from Lisbon as Tottenham faced Sporting Lisbon in the battle of the top of Group D. The first half saw limited chances apart from a fine run from ex Spurs man Marcus Edwards before the English youngster was denied by Hugo Lloris.
The second half looked like it was going to play out in the same manner before a Paulinho glancing header from a Pedro Goncalves corner put the hosts into a deserved lead. As Spurs threw everyone forward looking for an equaliser, they were dealt with another sucker blow as Arthur Gomes glided through the visitors’ defence before coolly slotting through Lloris’ legs to put the Portuguese side three points clear at the top of the group.
But where was the value for the punters?
Although there were five bookings in the match the fact, they were all given in the second half meant that the Multi-Bookings market made up at 0 (0 X 50 = 0). With a pre-match spread of 500-600 being offered, those who decided to sell made 500x their initial stake!
ENGLAND WOMEN V INDIA WOMEN – LAUNCH! (SETTLED AT 1501)
The second action of the day came from Derby as India returned the favour of their opening game thrashing at the hands of England as they beat the home side by eight wickets in the second T20I of the series to level the series at 1-1.
England were the first into bat scoring a respectable total of 142-6 with 17-year-old Freya Kemp becoming the youngest woman to make a T20I half-century for England recovering the hosts from 54/5.
However, this was no test for the visitors as they skittled off the runs in just 16.4 overs with Smriti Mandhana ending the innings not out on a massive 79 runs off just 53 deliveries.
With Mandhana hitting a massive score of 79 and the most amount of runs from an over being 19 the Launch market made up at a massive 1501. With a pre-match spread of 1,025-1,125 being offered lucky punters who decided to buy won 376x their initial stake!
MORECOMBE V SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY – SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY TOTAL GOAL MINUTES (SETTLED AT 231)
The last action of the night came from League 1 as Darren Moore’s Sheffield Wednesday played out a comfortable 3-0 win away at Morecombe to move the Owls just four points off top-of-the-table Ipswich.
The first half was a dull affair with the only notable bit of action being a booking for Cardiff loanee Mark McGuiness. However, the visitors really sparked into life in the second half scoring three times with Josh Windass, George Byers and Michael Smith all getting on the scoresheet to give the Owls all three points.
With all goals coming relatively late in the half for the visitors Sheffield Wednesday Total Goal Minutes made up at 231 (70+78+83=231). With a pre-match spread of 91-99 being offered, those punters who decided to buy won 132x their initial stake!
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
