Daily Spread Betting Round-up
West Ham landed their second piece of European silverware and their first trophy in over forty years on Wednesday when they beat Fiorentina in Prague, but even Jarrod Bowen’s late heroics couldn’t get West Ham onto the big winner’s blog from the last few days.
Ahead of a weekend where Manchester City go for the treble, we look back on the French Open, World Test Championship and a crazy race at Longchamp.

20:05 LONGCHAMP 08TH JUNE – GAGARINS MOON (SETTLED AT 50)
In 1961, the Vostok 1 rocket launched and sent Yuri Gagarin into space – the first-time mankind had ever left the earth’s atmosphere. Yesterday saw the launch of a very different kind of rocket as Gagarins Moon fired for home down the back straight and won the lucky last at Longchamp in astonishing style.
Priced at 5-7 on our 50-25-10 index, Sylvain Ruis rode the other five jockeys to sleep and by the time they made the turn for home, Gagarins Moon had an unassailable lead. The official winning distance was 30 lengths, but it looked like more than that in a remarkable race.
What was all the more impressive was that Gagarins Moon was a relative outsider and buyers on the 50-25-10 index were rewarded with a win of 43x their stake. If you haven’t seen the race you can find it here.
AUSTRALIA v INDIA – TRAVIS HEAD TON UPS (SETTLED AT 63)
After a superb first innings, Australia have managed to get themselves on top in the final of the World Test Championships and that platform was built by Steve Smith and one-time Yorkshire batsman Travis Head.
Entering the fray with the Aussies 76-3, Head laid on a superb innings of 163 before falling to Mohammed Siraj with the 29-year-old heading back to the pavilion to warm applause and the score at 361-4.
It was an excellent knock with came at a strike rate of just over 90 and featured 25 fours and one six. When Head came into bat his Ton Ups spread was 3-5 but settled at 63 as buyers won 58x their stake.
KAROLINA MUCHOVA v ARYNA SABALENKA – X-COURTS (SETTLED AT 119)
Karolina Muchova shocked the tennis world yesterday when she beat 2/7 favourite Aryna Sabalenka to reach her maiden Grand Slam final just one year after injuries threatened to end her career. It had not been the smoothest of tournaments for Sabalenka off the court with the Belarussian asked some awkward and pointed questions about her homeland in press conferences, but she still would have fancied her chances of meeting Iga Swiatek in the final.
In winning, Muchova (ranked world number 34) becomes one of the lowest ranked players to reach the final and not only was it a superb day for her but also for those who backed X-Courts.
This spread multiplies the games won in a set by each player and is then aggregated for the match and the X-Courts spread before play in this one 46-51. With Muchova triumphing 7-6, 6-7, 7-5 the spread settled at 119 (=42 + 42 + 35) as buyers won 68x their stake.
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
