WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY’S BIG WINNING BETS

There was plenty of sporting action to enjoy this week with cricket betting punters enjoying the Cricket World Cup action from India whilst there has also been plenty of international football as Scotland’s perfect qualifying record came to an end in Spain.

In this betting blog we run through some of the big winning bets over the last few days from our cricket and football spread betting markets.

For great odds and betting markets on a wide range of sports, download the Spreadex betting app where you will be able to find boosted odds and plenty of in-play betting options.

Please remember Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.

AUSTRALIA v SOUTH AFRICAAUS/SA SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT -134)

Cricket spread betting punters can normally count on Australia to be electric in the field and have plenty of fight about them. Both of those were lacking in yesterday’s limp defeat to South Africa which leaves the Aussies with two defeats from their opening two matches of the Cricket World Cup.

The Proteas batted first and led by a score of 109 by Quinton de Kock, they amassed a total of 311/7 from their 50 overs with Australia dropping five catches. In reply Australia started dismally, falling to 70-6 at one point before they eventually finished 177 all out.

One of our popular cricket spread betting markets is the match Supremacy and here the spread was set at 3-13 in Australia’s favour. However, with South Africa recording a 134 run victory, the spread settled at -134 as sellers won 137x their stake.

ENGLAND U21 v SERBIA U21 GOALS x SHIRTS (SETTLED AT 1590)

Defending European U21 champions England got their campaign off to a superb start last night when they thrashed Serbia 9-1 at the City Ground. There were only seven members of that championship winning side available to Lee Carsley, but the next generation have hit the ground running, despite falling behind early on.

There were braces for Jaden Philogene (shirt number 23), Harvey Elliott (19) and Noni Madueke (11) as England put Serbia to the sword. One of our more volatile football spread betting markets is Shirts x Goals and those placing a buy bet at 130-149 last night would have cleaned up.

With Shirt Numbers settling at 159 and there being ten goals in the match Shirts x Goals made up at 1590 as buyers won 1441x their stake.

WALES v GIBRALTAR WALES HEADED SUPER-MEGA MINUTES (SETTLED AT 209)

International football returned to the oldest international ground still in use as Wrexham hosted Wales’ first ever meeting with Gibraltar on Wednesday evening. Rob Page, with one eye on Monday’s qualifier with Croatia, named a changed side but they were still too much for the part-time Gibraltarians.

Ben Davies crashed home a header to open the scoring after 22 minutes and a headed brace from Kieffer Moore came either side of a Nathan Broadhead strike as Wales won 4-0 with all goals coming in the first half.

In football spread betting the headed Super-Mega Minutes spread counts the minute of the first headed goal as normal, doubles the minute of the second headed goal and trebles the minute of the third. With a trio of headers, the Wales Headed Super-Mega Minutes made up at 209 against a  pre-match spread of 52-60 as buyers won 149x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
