Daily Spread Betting Round-up
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
The Rugby World Cup final headlines the sporting action from Saturday whilst the Manchester derby takes centre stage on Sunday. There is also racing from Cheltenham, England’s rugby league series with Tonga and the usual thrills and spills from domestic football for spread betting punters to get excited about.
Before that though, we run through some big winning bets over the past few days in our daily betting blog.
Please remember Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.
There were plenty of football betting opportunities and despite being well supported in our Champions League betting odds, Atletico Madrid failed to beat a stubborn Celtic side in Glasgow on Wednesday. It was Celtic’s first point of their European campaign and whilst those who opposed Atletico made a profit, those who sided with booking points made a bigger one.
With six yellow cards handed out alongside Rodrigo de Paul receiving two, Bookings settled at 95 against a pre-match spread of 46-50, landing buyers a win of 45x their stake. For those football spread betting punters who like a slightly more volatile spread Multi-Bookings (first-half booking points multiplied by second-half booking points) made up at 2200 against a pre-match spread of 455-555, with buyers there winning a whopping 1645x their stake.
England’s dismal World Cup campaign continues as they were beaten by old foes Sri Lanka. The island nation has something of a hex over this English side having now won six of the last seven meetings between the two, but they have rarely won so emphatically.
After a promising start, England wilted to 156 all out, the lowest ever 50 over all out score made at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Sri Lanka cruised to victory inside 27 overs as England’s World Cup is all but over.
For cricket spread betting punters there has been plenty of joy opposing England so far with those getting against England with level stakes on our Supremacy spreads in every match currently up 519x their stake.
In this match, a more profitable big winning bet came in the Sixes Squared market which was 452-508 before play and with just four sixes scored, made up at 16. Those placing a sell bet were in the money as they landed a win of 436x their stake.
We round off our big winning bets blog with one of our more unusual football spread betting markets; Hat Trick. In this spread, three teams are picked out of a league or cup and the spread is how many minutes will pass until all three of those sides have scored in their respective matches.
For the midweek Championship action, our traders selected Leicester, West Bromwich Albion and Coventry City. Runaway leaders Leicester are now 1/12 in our Championship promotion odds and they opened the scoring against Sunderland after 12 minutes through James Justin. West Bromwich Albion converted a 59th minute penalty to open the scoring in their match against QPR, but Coventry couldn’t find the back of the net against relegation threatened Rotherham, so the spread settled at 90.
Before the matches began, this spread was priced up at 69-72, but thanks to Rotherham, buyers won the maximum possible amount of 18x their stake.
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
