Daily Spread Betting Round-up
WHat happens next?
As wintry conditions batter the UK, it may well be a good plan to hunker down this weekend and enjoy the plethora of sport on offer. The Six Nations is back, there will be the usual drama in the Premier League whilst over in America, the Players Championship continues.
England also play their second T20 against Bangladesh on Sunday and if you are in the mood for some cricket spread betting inspiration, read on as we have a big winner from the first clash in our big winning bets review.
Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.
BANGLADESH v ENGLAND – ENG/BAN SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT -60)
Having won the ODI series with Bangladesh 2-1, England were hopeful that they would be able to beat their Asian opponents in the shortest form of the international game when they faced each other in Chattogram yesterday.
Batting first, England appeared to be going well and were 135-2 at one point but their innings stalled late on as they finished on 156-6, a score which tilted the balance in Bangladesh’s favour. Najmul Hossain Shanto top scored for the Tigers as they chased down England’s total with two overs to spare, giving them a six wicket victory.
That meant the supremacy spread, which had been set at 5-13 in England’s favour before the match settled at -60 (10 points per wicket won by, one point per run won by) and those who sold and got behind the hosts won 65x their stake.
TOTTENHAM v AC MILAN – TOTTENHAM MULTI-BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 700)
Having seen Chelsea overturn a 1-0 first leg deficit to progress to the quarter finals on Tuesday, Tottenham needed to emulate their London rivals when they hosted Milan on Wednesday.
There had been calls to make the atmosphere at the Tottenham Stadium as loud and ferocious as it had ever been, but Spurs bowed out of the cup with a whimper and the only ferocity on display came in the form of mistimed challenges from the hosts.
Clement Lenglet and Christian Romero were both given yellow cards in the first half (20 booking points) and the Argentine was given his marching orders in the second half for a second yellow card after a reckless challenge on Theo Hernandez. Oliver Skipp also made his way into the book deep into injury time meaning that there were 35 booking points awarded in the second half.
Before the match, Tottenham Multi-Bookings was 110-160, but with this market settling at 700 (20x35), card happy buyers were delighted with a win of 540x their stake.
WIGAN v CATALANS – FIRST CATALANS TRY (SETTLED AT 6)
Missing eight first team players and heading to wintry Wigan conditions which are a far cry from the 19°C temperatures Perpignan is currently enjoying, no one gave Catalans much of a chance last night.
Despite the French side’s dismal record at the DW Stadium, they had started the season with three wins out of three and they extended their perfect record with an 18-10 win over Matt Peet’s side to leave themselves top of the league.
In line with their underdog status and the fact that Wigan had nilled their last two opponents, the spread on the Catalans First Try Minute was 37-40, but Tongan forward Manu Ma’u tore up the script and powered over for the first try of a brace after just six minutes.
That left sellers with a win of 31x their stake and fixed odds punters who backed the Tongan to score first at 40/1, anytime at 9/1 or to score two or more tries at 66/1 were all left raising a toast to the former Hull FC man.
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
