FRANCE v NAMIBIA – MATCH MULTI-POINTS (SETTLED AT 2268)

To kick us off, we head to Marseille as many punters’ favourites to win the 2023 Rugby World Cup -France - faced Namibia in the third group game of Group A.

Ahead of the game, France were priced at fixed odds of 1/40 to beat the African side and showed why they were such heavy favourites as they raced into a 54-0 lead at halftime. The second half saw more of the same as Damian Penaud completed his hat-trick of tries to complete a record 96-0 win for France.

However, not everything went to plan as Les Bleus lost their captain Antoine Dupont to a serious facial injury, leaving his participation in the rest of the tournament in doubt.

But where was the value for the punters?

With there being 54 points scored in the first half and 42 scored in the second half, the Match Multi-Points market made up at 2268 (54 x 42 = 2268). This meant that punters who decided to buy the spread of 1425-1540 made a profit of 728x their stake!

LEGIA WARSAW v ASTON VILLA – ERNEST MUCI SUPER MEGA MINUTES (SETTLED AT 128)

Next, we head to Poland as Legia Warsaw hosted Europa Conference League favourites Aston Villa in the opening game of Group E.

Many punters have tipped Aston Villa to repeat the feat of West Ham last season and become Conference League champions. However, the Villains got off to a shaky start as they went behind in just the third minute. Three more goals followed in an action-packed first half which saw the two sides go in all square at two-goals-apiece.

Villa weren’t level for long though as just six minutes into the second half, young Albanian forward Ernest Muci got his second of the game and ultimately the match-winner as Legia Warsaw recorded a famous victory over the English side.

With Muci scoring twice his Super Mega Minutes market made up at a massive 128 (26 + 102 = 128). With a pre-match spread of 12-16 offered, punters who decided to buy won 112x their stake!

AJAX v MARSEILLE – GOALS X CORNERS X BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 2160)

Finally, we head to the Johan Cruyff Arena as Ajax hosted Marseille in what many punters have tipped as the group of death in this year's Europa League with Brighton and AEK Athens also in action.

Spectators certainly weren’t disappointed with this tie as the two sides played out a six-goal thriller which saw the points shared at the end of 90 minutes. Tempers also flared in the dying moments of the game with Dutch youngster Silvano Cliff Robbie Vos being shown a second yellow.

For punters, buying on the Goals X Corners X Bookings spread betting market proved to be a profitable decision. High-scoring matches are always the hope for buyers in this market and this being accompanied with a red card meant the market made up at a whopping 2160 (6 x 8 x 45 = 2160). With a pre-match spread of 1125-1250 offered, punters who decided to buy won a massive 910x their initial stake!

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
