Daily Spread Betting Round-up

Wednesday's & Thursday's Big Winning Bets

midweeks-big-winning-bets-21102022-landing-page-header

The midweek Premier League action failed to get too many pulses racing, but there was one managerial casualty as Aston Villa parted ways with Steven Gerrard and there may be another soon on the horizon after Leeds’s insipid loss on the road against Leicester.

In the Europa League Arsenal beat PSV in their rearranged match and there have been plenty of shocks in the Cricket World Cup as well. Read on to find three big winning spread bets from the past few days.

Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.

WALES v COOK ISLANDS – MATCH MULTI-POINTS (SETTLED AT 200)

Given a 16 point deficit to overcome on the handicap, many expected Cook Islands to cruise past a spirited but limited Welsh side on Wednesday evening, but John Kear’s side put in a brave display.

A squad comprising 12 homegrown players is something to be proud of for Wales who were missing several players they would have liked to add either through suspension in the case of Gil Dudson or a move to French rugby union like Regan Grace.

Wales held a 12-8 lead at the break, but ultimately the Kukis top flight experience shone through, with former South Sydney flyer Steven Marsters scoring the winning try for the Pacific nation after Davvy Moale’s try had levelled the game.

With 20 first half points being added to by just 10 in the second, Match Multi Points settled at 200. Before the match, the spread was 529-574 as sellers won 329x their initial stake.

PREMIER LEAGUE MIDWEEK – TOTAL GOAL MINUTES (SETTLED AT 564)

Admittedly, this spread started on Tuesday, but since it only settled yesterday, we feel like we are allowed to include it! The Total Goal Minute spread for the Premier League midweek fixtures combined was 1256-1301 before action got underway on Tuesday evening and in a low scoring week, it was a seller’s paradise.

There were two 0-0 draws in the round as Brentford, Chelsea, Brighton, and Nottingham Forest couldn’t find a way to break the deadlock in their respective matches. There were also 1-0 wins for Liverpool, Newcastle, and Southampton with all three winners coming before the half hour mark.

Fulham’s 3-0 win over Aston Villa, Manchester United’s 2-0 triumph over Spurs and Crystal Palace’s come-from-behind win over Wolves were the only matches to see two second half goals with the final match of the week seeing Leicester fail to add to their 2-0 lead they held at half time.

With such low scoring fare on offer, the spread settled at 564 with sellers landing a win equal to 692x their stake.

WEST INDIES v IRELAND – WI/IRE MATCH SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT 90)

One from early this morning as the West Indies crashed out of the World Cup against Ireland, who romped to a 9 wicket win. The 2012 and 2016 champions were restricted to just 146 runs after batting first with spinner Gareth Delany finishing on figures of 3-16 for the Irish.

Ireland got their innings underway with the previously out of form Paul Stirling and Andrew Balbirnie opening and the pair shared a partnership of 73 runs before Balbirnie was caught by Kyle Mayers. With a good platform set, Stirling continued to score alongside Lorcan Tucker and the pair’s partnership brought the match home with 15 balls to spare.

It was an impressive performance from Ireland and the under-pressure Stirling, and they will be thrilled to advance to the Super 12. Supremacy buyers would also have been thrilled with the initial spread at -19 - -11 settling at 90 thanks to Ireland’s 9 wicket win (10 points per wicket run by or one point per run won by) as they won 101x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
