Daily Spread Betting Round-up
There were goals aplenty this weekend as Aston Villa put four past Southampton, Inter stuck five past Salernitana and SpreadEx-sponsored Corby Town hit six past Histon.
With so much football taking place across the world, our weekend review features a hat-trick of interesting spreads from the beautiful game that may provide some inspiration ahead of the Champions League and Premier League matches midweek coupons.
Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, losses can exceed deposits when spread betting.
IVAN TONEY SUPER MEGA MINUTES (SETTLED AT 310)
Brentford have hit a real rough patch since the turn of the year but Saturday’s 3-1 win over basement boys Norwich City was just sorely needed if the Bees are to have a relaxing end to the season.
They also need Ivan Toney fit and firing, and the 25-year-old bagged a hat trick to take his league haul to nine goals for the season. Good news for Brentford and good news for Toney then, but also very good news for those who bought Ivan Toney Super Mega Minutes.
This market has been highlighted a couple of times on the blog, but for those who haven’t been reading (where have you been?!) here is a quick reminder. The market is settled based on the aggregate of all the minutes Toney scored in, but with the added twist that his second goal counts double and his third treble.
That means his hat trick goal in the 58th minute added 174 to the total and left the market to settle at 310 against an initial spread of 27-32. Buyers were left walking away with the match ball as they netted a win amounting to 278x their initial stake.
MANCHESTER CITY v MANCHESTER UNITED SHIRTS x BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 1110)
Manchester United had won three matches in a row at the Etihad, but that run ended spectacularly on Sunday afternoon as their cross-city rivals took them apart. Two goals each from Riyad Mahrez and Kevin De Bruyne saw City cruise to a 4-1 win, re-establishing their six-point lead at the top of the league in the process.
One of the big winning markets from the match came for sellers in the Shirts x Bookings market which was set at 3250-3550 before kick-off. The market is settled based on the aggregate of the goalscorers shirt numbers (in this match that number came to 110) multiplied by the number of booking points.
Derby matches are normally feisty affairs, but Harry Maguire was the only player to receive a card for a late lunge on De Bruyne as the Belgian broke down City’s right-hand side. That left the final makeup at 1110 and sellers were set to collect a win equal to 2140x their stake.
CELTA VIGO v MALLORCA GOALS x CORNERS x BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 6615)
We round off the review with an absolute thriller from the Spanish top flight as Celta Vigo beat Mallorca 4-3 thanks to a 97th minute penalty from former Liverpool forward Iago Aspas.
The main market for profit in this match was the Goals x Corners x Bookings market which was set at 1050-1175 before the match began. Buyers on the market landed a win of 5440x their stake thanks in no small part to the volume of cards that were doled out by Miguel Angel Ortiz Arias.
With seven goals and eight corners in the match, buyers needed 30 booking points to turn a profit, but they were rewarded with a whopping 130, with two red cards handed out in addition to eight yellows (big shoutout to Celta Vigo defender Hugo Mallo who collected a maximum 35 booking points after he was sent off for a second bookable offence).
