Another weekend of dramatic sporting action saw plenty of thrills at the Paris Olympics where Novak Djokovic finally claimed the coveted gold medal in the tennis, Scottie Scheffler won the golf gold medal for USA, Terence Crawford became a four-weight world champion in the boxing and much more, and as always in our daily betting blog we run through the big spread betting winners from the weekend!

OLYMPIC TENNIS - NOVAK DJOKOVIC v CARLOS ALCARAZ: X-COURTS (SETTLED AT 84)

We start with the tennis betting action at the Olympics where Novak Djokovic cemented his status as likely the greatest player of all time by finally securing a gold medal on his fifth attempt with an incredible two-set victory over young star Carlos Alcaraz, who dominated him in the Wimbledon final just a matter of weeks ago.

In what was another clash of generations between likely the two best players in men's tennis right now (along with Jannik Sinner), Djokovic and Alcaraz played out a gladatorial battle in Paris, which culminated in two tie-breaks with zero breaks of serve in the entire match and a first set which alone lasted 1hr 34 minutes.

Ultimately, Djokovic produced one of the best performances in his career and came through the vital deciding moments in both tie-breaks to claim the puzzle piece missing for so long in his career, and leave his young Spanish rival in tears.

For tennis spread bettors, those deciding to place a buy bet on our X-Courts market proved to have made a profitable choice. Buyers returned an Ace 28x return on their initial wager from a pre-match spread of 51 - 56 after a settlement of 84.

OLYMPIC GOLF - PERFS: SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER (SETTLED AT 200)

Next we move to the Olympic golf action and World Number 1 Scottie Scheffler continued his dominance by securing the gold medal for USA, on what was also a good day for Team GB as Britain's Tommy Fleetwood secured the silver medal at Le Golf National.

Scheffler produced a sensational finish to add to the multiple titles he has won on the PGA Tour this year, and his second Masters title at Augusta in April. The American ended 19 under par total and tied the course record of nine-under 62, with six birdies in his back-nine 29.

For golf punters betting on the Scheffler Performance market at a pre-match spread of 85 - 90, a settlement of 200 meant a return of 105x on buy bets!

BOXING - ANDY RUIZ JR v JARRELL MILLER - DRAW/TECHNICAL DRAW (SETTLED AT 100)

And finally, we finish with the weekend's boxing action and a heavyweight clash in Los Angeles on the Crawford/Madrimov card as Andy Ruiz took on Jarrell Miller and ended in a majority draw after two of the three judges scored the bout 114-114 and the other scored in favour of Miller 116-112.

Miller outlanded Ruiz 183 to 113 and appeared to do enough to win the fight by also throwing 159 more punches, but he didn’t get the nod on the scorecards. The two boxers have an interesting history as it was Miller who was scheduled to fight Anthony Joshua back in 2019 before a failed drug test led Ruiz to step in and defeat the Englishman in a shock which led him to become the first Mexican-American heavyweight champion.

In terms of spread betting, punters who decided to place a buy bet on the Draw/Technical Draw market made excellent profit. With the starting spread at just 3 - 5, a final make-up of 100 meant a return of 95x their opening stake!
