Daily Spread Betting Round-up

Weekend's Big Winning Bets

weekend-big-winning-bets-landing-page-header-080724

After despatching hosts Germany on Friday night, Spain are now 19/10 to lift the trophy with England 27/10 to land a maiden European Championship. The Three Lions have won just one of their five games inside 90 minutes, but they are narrow 8/5 favourites to get past a Netherlands side who have found their mojo of late.

Away from the Euros, there were plenty of online betting opportunities over the weekend and we run through some of the markets where canny spread betting punters made a tidy profit.

Please remember Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.

ZIMBABWE v INDIA – IND/ZIM SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT 13)

Fresh off T20 World Cup success, India sent a second string outfit to Zimbabwe for a two match series and whilst they were comfortable winners in the second match, the first saw a shock win for the African nation.

The Indian squad boasted none of the players who had secured World Cup glory but was still stacked with IPL talent. Despite this, they could only muster a total of 102 all-out in response to Zimbabwe’s 115-9 with three Indians departing without scoring.

For cricket spread betting punters who sided with the underdogs in Harare there was profit to be made. The Supremacy was heavily in India’s favour before play with a spread of 55-63, yet a shock 13-run win for the Chevrons saw the market settle at -13 as sellers won 68x their stake.

SANDOWN 5TH JULY – WINNING FAVOURITES (SETTLED AT 5)

Seven races took place on Friday at Sandown as the warm up act for the Group 1 Eclipse on Saturday and it was a day where punters got the better of the bookies.

Horse racing betting generally sees punters skew towards the favourites and of the seven races on the card, the market principal came home in front in five of those. James Evans’ Dream Compose (13/8F) and Lion’s Pride (11/4F) were the only two not to land the spoils with the likes of Trueshan, Aesterius, and Goldolphin’s Anno Domini justifying market favouritism.

Before they went to post in the first race of the day, the Winning Favourites spread was 2.3-2.5 with five winners landing buyers a win of 2.5x their stake.

SUPER LEAGUE GROUP – TOTAL TRY MINUTES (SETTLED AT 1359)

After a drab international weekend, Super League returned and there were some cracking matches, with four out of the six clashes settled by two points or fewer. Three matches on Friday night saw St Helens beaten 8-6 at home by Castleford for the first time since the 1980s, Wigan record a 24-6 success over Leigh in the ‘Battle of the Borough’ whilst Warrington walloped Huddersfield 48-0.

On Saturday, Leeds needed Golden Point to sneak past London Broncos with Catalans using the same route to beat Hull KR 15-14 in a nailbiter at Craven Park. The weekend’s action was rounded off on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal as Salford Red Devils triumphed 24-22 over Hull FC.

With low scoring matches throughout the weekend, it paid to be a seller on Total Try Minutes across our aggregate market for all the matches. Before the Friday kick-offs, the spread was 1842-1932 but with the market settling at 1359, sellers won 483x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
