WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?

On a weekend Manchester City became the third British side to do the treble and Novak Djokovic became the most successful men’s tennis player in history, Wakefield finally rewarded Trinity Multi-Points buyers as they bagged their first win of the season over local rivals Leeds Rhinos!

There were winners elsewhere with Australia crowned Test champions of the world and Teofimo Lopez the new WBO world light welterweight champion, but where were the big winners to be found in the spreads this weekend?

MANCHESTER CITY v INTER MILAN – GOALS X SHIRTS (SETTLED AT 16)

The Greeks, Romans, and Ottomans have all ruled over Istanbul and after 90 steamy minutes at the Ataturk Stadium Manchester City ruled above all others in the historic city.

The shortest priced side in the 1X2 markets ahead of a Champions League/European Cup final since the 1980s, City made heavy weather of a side who had set out to frustrate the English champions. Chances were at a premium with Erling Haaland and Bernardo Silva coming closest for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Eventually though, a spell of pressure saw the ball break to Rodri and the Spaniard – who was 22/1 to net the first goal of the evening – slotted home with unerring accuracy. There were more chances for City, most notably for Phil Foden and Inter fans will still be replaying the Romelu Lukaku and Federico Dimarco’s misses in their mind, but the score finished 1-0 to the English outfit.

With goals at a premium, it was a good night for sellers on the most part and those who sold (with Rodri wearing shirt number 16) Goals x Shirts at 149-165 were rewarded with a win of 133x their stake.

AUSTRALIA v INDIA – ALEX CAREY PLAYER PERFORMANCE (SETTLED AT 174)

Australia mopped up the Indian tail yesterday as they cruised to a win in the World Test Championship at the Oval. The Aussies look a formidable outfit ahead of the Ashes and whilst injuries to England’s bowling attack have increased nerves over here, the performance of the Aussies here will only have heightened them.

There were plenty of big winning spread bets but those who bought Alex Carey Player Performance at 83-91 were in the money. This market offers one point per run, ten points per catch, 20 points per wicket and 25 points per stumping.

With the South Australian 114 runs across the match and pouching six catches, the market settled at 174 as buyers won 83x their stake.

PINNACLE STAKES – HAYDOCK 10TH JUNE – TIME LOCK 39.1-19.6-7.8 (SETTLED AT 0)

Two Group 3s headlined the action on Saturday and whilst 9/4 favourite Jumby won the John Of Gaunt Stakes, the favourite in the previous race could only manage fourth place from five runners.

Normally the Race Index markets are 50-25-10 but the withdrawal of likely contender Mimikyu altered the returns for the race, not unlike a rule 4 in fixed odds betting, to 39.1-19.6-7.8. After the non-runner was declared, Time Lock became the clear favourite, but Ryan Moore’s mount never challenged with a Tom Marquand and William Haggas combination winning for a successive year with Sea Silk Road.

As the horses went to post, the Race Index spread on Time Lock was 25-28, but with the four-year-old filly failing to finish in the top three, the spread settled at zero as sellers won 25x their stake.
